Read the Reseller Ratings on Hypersonic, and you'll understand about that brand.

VooDoo is too much money, and their laptops are just rebranded from other companies and can be had for cheaper elsewhere. Hypersonic also uses these rebranded notebooks too.

I like voodoos because of the RAID functions and the superior design.

Many serious notebook enthusiasts have them but they are not generally the type who come on forums like this which I have recently fallen out with because for some reason I cannot post new threads.

It's for the express purpose of Price:Value.
Sager and its more conservative rebranders like Powernotebooks & Xotic, etc etc are all extremely competitively priced compared to boutiques like Voodoo, Falcon NW, and others. People can be dumb, but paying 2x more on something comparably equal is downright ludicrous. If you look into it, though, many people have the 'same' notebook as those offered by all those uber-expensive boutiques.

I got a great deal. And Voodoo is overpriced, whereas alienware does the same. Hypersonics and voodoos are usually more because of the customizations. Mine was configured with 3 year warranty /w 24/7 phone support and 3 year accidental damage. Also got full system automotive anti scratch paint (mouse too) and it was still cheaper then voodoo. The company I was going to use before I decided on my HS was ProStar. www.shopprostar.com
I configured the same system I have now for 5300! But I like the extras and shiny stuff, So I can be suckered.

Bottom Line, hypersonic has all the same options as voodoo (except the cheap tattoo). people by voodoo because they like saying "i got a voodoo" i suppose. Alienware's biggest monster is outdated and not nearly as fast as anything configured in the new clevo cases, but is still expensive. That to me my friends, is paying for the name. Although I must admit, Alienwares go through more extensive testing before shipped, and buyers can feel more confident.

It's a good argument that many people pay more for all the support and extra goodies i guess. But don't places like rjtech offer warranties? It just seems like when someone begins to spend that type of money on a system don't they usually know a little bit about computers? Like enough to realize spending 4k on a voodoo or whatever for a 2k clevo is um..i dont know, dumb?
