Yeah, what a worthless game.
I've had it for several days now and I find cheating to be rampant.
Yeah O.K Mr. Ghz General, I like how you somehow manage to do headshots with a pistol at over 50 yards. Consistantly.
I like how so many players seem to have godly kill (read: cheats). EX: Does it make sense one man with a pistol can kill a group of 4-5 players with ak47s? Over and over?
Or how about people who just seem to know you're coming around corners even when you creep along: and BAM! Headshot.
Or the people with 46+ kills and only 3 deaths?
Or the people who seem to have endless amounts of ammo with no reloading?
So much for their "anti cheat" software.

Yeah, if you find a cheater on a server it's best to just go to another server. I've been playing for quite a few months now and find that while cheating does exist, if you find a good server with a decent admin, you're fine.
-
Source has been around a long time and a lot of people play it like crazy.
The people could know you're coming around a corner because of lag. You may be having lag issues. The endless clips thing might be lag too. But it might be cheating.
Theres a lot of people out there who can get huge amounts of kills and only a few deaths legit. A lot of people take this game way too seriously.
And the pistol pwnage thing is easy. I picked it up because when I started playing FPS's I sucked a lot. I couldnt even get to good weapons (ah the classic days...) and got stuck with using just the pistol. I had to cope with just the pistol till I learned the game well enough. And it turned out I got really good with it. -
Ha yes i hate cs to I dont know why people like it, maybe cuz they have never played some real fps.
-
I have seen legit players with pistols kill 4-6 players that have AK's, but those are the CAL level/lucky ones. Cheating really depends on the server you play in.
-
While it is a shame that people cheat, you must remember that YOU JUST STARTED. People play this game constantly and get incredibly good. I was one of those people for a summer or so. If you find the game not fun, don't play it. Also, do not disregard the language filters--they are there for a reason. We preserve a family-friendly environment here.
Thanks. -

I played CS:S a lot this summer too, I must admit that the deagle kicks some serious ass. It's a hand cannon, and you can run just as fast with it as with a knife. In fact the only thing I don't like about that handgun is 1) they don't call it what it really is, a Desert Eagle, due to copyright issues and 2) the new updates made it cost like $5000---I'm pretty sure it beats the machine gun's price now.
As for the standard CT USP pistol, I find that I can now pwn new players with relative ease with it at short to mid range distances. My kill/death ratio is always around 1.5:1 and can vary depending on the skill of my opponents. Also I play a lot of gun games where k/d ratios don't matter, so it helps me get familiar with all of the weapons and assess their strengths and weaknesses. -
aim bot and speed hax are for pros

yea what gatordude says the deagle pwnz hard core and just about every gun in css does cause you can run down ramps and stuff and spray with the m4 and hit 3 guys before they kill you vs. 1.6 you try that and if your lucky you can maybe get 1 shot to hit some one. so the guns have less recoil and the pistols pretty much have no recoil. if you get good with aim you can take out about 8 guys with a glock with out reloading.
but i have to say the dynamic prices in css is the gayest updated steam has come out with yet... its so dumb awps are cheaper than deagles and m4's cost about 7000 dollars. PLUS! you have to relearn the buy keys if you use the numbers cause ensteand of 8 catagories there is only 6and no more buying an m4 and hopeing to kill a guy or two with one clip you have to buy gun and ammo all at once

Welcome to CS:S! While one can get pretty good with practice, I was reasonable when I played, the constant hacking, wall hacks, aimbots and ammo hacks make the game somewhat unsatisfying for regular users.
That and the AWPing are the reasons I won't be getting into it again, much as I'd like to. Valve clearly don't have a clue. -
Hey Chaz, you try bunny hopping in CS:S yet? I remember it used to be possible when it first came out, but I can't seem to replicate it anymore.
-
CS:S is great and all but I still prefer 1.6 for some reason. Not exactly why. I guess after the years of gaming with 1.6 I got so used to it that CS:S wouldn't work for me.
Now while hacking is there and the kids acting tough with their cursing and whining I got to say its quiet funny. I have actually have my share of arguments but then who hasn't?
If you find a good server with good people then your all set I say. Some great times on CS and that reminds me I should install Steam right now -
I hate CS too. Not so much because of cheating, but because of the sheer dumb extents to which players wind themselves up over the smallest thing and how stupidly serious some people take it. Its hilarious.
I always prefered Soldier of Fortune 2 and Global Ops. -
I've never played CSS. I always played HL2 and the single player HL games.
In fact, I've never played a good online game since UT... -

I usually play on the no AWP/Auto servers. It's not that I can't play with people who use those rifles, but I do believe it takes away some of the "fun" factor of the game. -
When Source first came out, I bought Half-Life 2 for it. It was okay. Before hacks were updated to run on the new engine.
I have a friend who regularly hacks, and I was at his place and he showed me how easy it was to hack (on gamearena servers no less) and that's when I stopped playing CSS. -

Or why not try the alternative and join the forces in BF2 and/or BF2142. I am an old CS player and still comes back ones in a while for some good fun, but now a days I must say I prefer the BF-series. The gameplay in these games are much more fun and rewarding. Spescially if you join a squad with people who are into teamwork.

i dont think ppl cheat when they get so many headshots from distance. there is a logical explanation
those people are losers who have no social and spend way too much time playing CSS. no offence or anything, but I am pretty certain it is the case 99% of the time.
then again i guess it was pretty addictive. but i just cant stay indoors that long -
so what's the best FPS these days with the least amount of cheating?
i also find all the cheating in CSS very annoying -
Try to play on servers that is a clan server with a few admins that hang around, cheating happens much less often, and when it does, everyone starts going
"OMG HAXORS" and the admin is like "K" and then it says "HAXOR kicked and banned". -
BF2 imo is the best FPS online.
As for CSS, if you think about it everything in the game is timed. Eventually, people get to know maps and know exactly where everyone is or will be at a set time if they are sprinting. They can literally shoot as they walk around walls because they know someone is bound to be there. -
there are such things called footsteps. + you can get alodda kills with few deaths. A clan called CTU, formerly known as CJP has clan members that are amazing. we had a race to 200 kills on the server and one guy got 200 and 32 i think.
personally when I f around i use hacks. The only hacks that i have that are vac 2 proof are speed hacks. LISTEN! I only use them for fun, and when i use them i make it ovboious because its hilarious. I used to use speed hacks and aimbot and wall hack and auto shoot, and that combination used to be deadly. I mean it, kill the whole team in less then 15 seconds
but then the hacks became detectable by vac, so i stopped -
The biggest complaint I had with BF2 was the players. They'd FF your chopper as you're sitting on the deck just because they wanted to fly it. -

GRRR I HATE THAT SO MUCH ON BF 2 when they kill you or crash the copper or kill you in the choper cause they wanted in it... some jerk that was waiting ran off then i came up cause i was waiting for jet and took it after he had left to get a car then he came back and blew me up cause i "took his plane that he was waiting for"
-
back in the day, Ghost Recon1 was the best online. shame not so many people tried it out
-
Sof2 still is and always will be my favourite simple 'marines vs terrorists shoot 'em up' multiplayer game.

I don't know why you guys are hating on css. css is an amazing game. sure hacks do happen but most of the times if you're on a good server the hackers are pretty easy to find and they get banned pretty quickly. most of the times, when someone thinks someone hacks it's usually because the accuser is a noob and doesn't know how to play yet.
fyi... there are things called the radar & SOUND. sound is pretty much the easiest way to find someone b4 seeing them. Get a good headset and turn up the sound you noobs! -
oh yeah... if you hate dynamic pricing "the new pricing thing" there are servers that turn that off. go find one... most servers nowadays are turning it off anyways. and uhhh if you don't like awps... go play on a no awp/auto server and get good at the rifles then get good at the awp. those who think the awp is a noob gun are noobs themselves. the awp is an integral part of the game.
-
That's why I don't like radar either. A map is okay, as long as people don't show up on it. -
-
I love CSS...It's a good skillful game. The Recoil of guns is realistic, and its not one of those silly aim and spray bullets game.
-
btw is anyone having problems connecting to steam at all? i cantand i cant even get the support forums to load
lol

Yeah there was a storm or something in the town where Steam is located, so it is offline for now.

I love dynamic pricing...LOL

Well it'd be a good idea if it was limited to individual sessions, instead of this global system they have in place. I can see how it would force players to balance out and use different weapons the longer the server runs. But to force some players to pay for the weapon preferences of players on other servers is just absurd, as it is purely an artificial price at that point and not really indicative of the type of gameplay on the server in question.
-
I don't even play CS anymore but you know what? Thank god the stupid deagle is $13000...that gun was retarded when you had people running around round 1 blowing your head off in one shot before you can blink. So overpowered...way better than any of the submachine guns or shotguns.
In real life, the only time the deagle is used is in movies or maybe for novelty big game hunting but that's about it. No professional military has ever or will ever use it. The thing is so f'ing big you can barely hold it properly, it is so big that a special modified pistol grip is needed to handle it. And the recoil is insane: my friend in the military got to shoot one and he didn't hold it properly the first time and he actually hit himself in the nose from the recoil...no joke. Also, in the unrealistic world of CS where your first shot is always perfectly accurate, the biggest bullet wins so of course the deagle owns. In real life, although the deagle is a very accurate gun, the limitations of a pistol grip as opposed to aiming through a sight down a barrel with a stock means that in a combat situation, even a SMG is way more accurate.
/rant. I recognize that CS was never intended as a ultrarealistic game or anything (or even that ultrarealistic games are a good thing) but the deagle was just stupid...as realistic as an Arnie movie. Good riddance. -
P.S. gator...no there is no evidence that the Israeli military or special forces have ever used the deagle...although information like that on special forces and elite units is obviously hard to obtain or verify as it is usually classified.
The deagle is about twice the weight and more than twice the cost of typical sidearms like Beretta or SIG. The bottom line is it's a very well-engineered pistol but it is not at all well-suited for the purposes of combat. If you needed that kind of power then the logical next step would be a SMG or maybe shotgun for close range...7 elephant-sized bullets just can't compare damage-wise to a hail of bullets or cluster of buckshot. Of course that doesn't stop it from being desired.
