This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     I always overwrite GPU drivers w/o Driver Cleaner

    I have seen on these boards numberous times that you should use a driver cleaning program to remove old drivers before installing new ones. For years I just overwrote old drivers and continued to update accordingly.

    What have I been risking by upgrading like this, and does cleaning old drivers really "increase" performance even if the same driver is used, but User A cleans up, and User B doesn't? Thanks.

    I am in the process of updating my drivers to .04 and just wanted to be clear before I proceed.
