I have seen on these boards numberous times that you should use a driver cleaning program to remove old drivers before installing new ones. For years I just overwrote old drivers and continued to update accordingly.

What have I been risking by upgrading like this, and does cleaning old drivers really "increase" performance even if the same driver is used, but User A cleans up, and User B doesn't? Thanks.

I am in the process of updating my drivers to .04 and just wanted to be clear before I proceed.

It ensures there won't be any compatability issues.

No need for a new thread about this when you could have asked this in the other thread you created.
