    Hello guys!

I am kinda confused right now because i updated my drivers to ForceWare 92.91 from www.laptopvideo2go.com, and i was just messing around in the driver properties page where u control all the AA and AF settings and stuff, when i clicked on a down arrow and selected "advanced settings" or something like that....now that wouldnt have been a problem had i not stumbled upon Transperacy AA....that is whats making me confused...i thought Transperacy AntiAlising were only for the GeForce 7 series???? it never had this option with my older drivers (84.73 or somethig)....so is it just a driver error or is the Transperacy (spelling?) thingy real and works????

If it's there, it may work.

I wouldn't try it on a 6600 though, it would slow down your system horribly.........

The other thing to remember is that the Nvidia drivers are unified, so features for some cards may not not work properly but still be there to play with - It may work / It may not.

ok..ive been playing around with it and here are my resualts: (i will post screenshots later since i dont have internet access right now and am using temproary dialup (28k) )

    F.E.A.R
1024x786 All settings on high (textures medium and soft shadows off)
    AA/AF off
    AVG 37~46Fps + random boosts to 53

    AA 2x + Adaptive Multisample---------FPS=30~40 + random boosts fo 50~
    AA 4x + adaptive Multisample---------FPS=25~40 + random boosts to 50~
    AA 8xs+ Adaptive Multisample--------Fps=10~21 + random boosts to 35~

    AA 2x + Adaptive Supersample--------Fps=25~40
    AA 4x + Adaptive Supersample--------Fps=15~25
    AA 8xS+ Adaptive Supersample-------Fps=5~15

(FEAR is the only game i tried it on right now...but i will try on other games later and posts resualts + screens)

Conclusion-------Go for adaptive Multisample if anything...even with 2x mode it really helps on quality especially on fences and other thin stuff. Supersample just kills performance

In nVidia's 90 series drivers, they enable Transparency AA for their 6 series cards. That's why you see it, and that's why it actually works.

That said, my experience with Multisampled Transparency AA has been...unimpressive at best. If you're going to use the feature, use it Supersampled. Yes, you take a small performance hit for it, but SS looks worlds better than MS.
