hi guys so i just bought dell inspiron 15r special edition and it is 15.6 screen and the native resolution is 1920 x 1080 and when I play a game like battlefield 3, i get a really low fps on my native resolution ( 25 - 30 fpx on all low setting) so I tried to change the resolution to 1366x768 because most of normal 15.6" laptops have that native resolution.. The game looks okay but it is kind of blurry. still playable but ruins my game expeirence..........
Do you think i shouldve bought a laptop with 1366x768 resolution for better gaming performance??
is there a way to change my native resolution so i get a clear and sharp image when i lower it to 1366x768.?
It feels like I paid 150$ more for an uselss 1980x 1080 upgrade. I friend told me that 1980 x 1080 on a 15.6 screen is useless since it is not that noticable....![]()
I shouldve bought a 1366x768 acer laptop that had a same specification as my dell 15r se laptop D: because i think playing on native 1366 x 768 with higher graphic setting with stable frame rate gives me better gaming experience than playing on native 1920x 1080 with all low setting.........
Should i return my laptop..?? What do you guys think...?

whats the graphics card on it? i have 1080p on my 15.6 inch clevo, i feel it looks very lovely and i have a 675m to run it
-
i have 7730m which is equivalent to performance of 640m... Thats why i want to play on 1366x 768 but since my native resolution is 1920 1080, if i change to lower resolution, it is not clear....... D:
any solution for me??? -
According to notebookcheck.com, the 7730m is able to run battlefield 3 at medium @ 1080p. you can try turning down other settings like AA and texture while resolution remains the same

your use of the word "native" as a term of art is exceedingly imprecise. a WXGA (1366x768) resolution looks the same on any display that supports it in that strict context, i.e. the number of pixels/level of information displayed. FHD (1920x1080) is not a useless upgrade to the extent that you paid $150 for nearly double the pixel density of the lesser alternative. naturally gaming performance increases at a lower resolution as, in this case, it's only half as taxing on your system. your "issue" has everything to do with the GPU and nothing to do with resolution. i would return the laptop for one with a better graphics adapter if your ultimate goal is to game at a higher resolution than 1366x768.

Set the scaling to letterbox rather than stretch.

check for updated drivers as well

Once you achieve that thought of returning a laptop and you ponder about returning it, the chances of you continuing to admire and enjoy your laptop diminish. Therefore, you need to re-examine your decision to purchase the 15R before the time period of returning it expires or learn to love the beauty of the laptop and stop complaining.

If gaming is your aim you should return this and get a laptop with at least a GT 650m. The Lenovo Ideapad Y580 (GTX 660m) is about the same price as the Inspiron you bought (and other than graphics card also very similar) or there is always the option of paying more money for more.
I bought dell inspirton 15r special edition..
