What does DirectX10 or 11 compatible video card mean? I'm pretty sure my card can run DirectX11 and 10 but what does that have to do with what cards will run the game?
Could someone give me an estimate on how well the game will run on my rig? I don't want to buy it if I can't play online (I don't mind playing on low settings, this game looks amazing)
I can play these games at good FPS on these settings:
BF:BC2 on MED
MW2 on MED
Black Ops on MED
Minecraft on FAR render distance
CS:S on HIGH
The witcher 2 barely on LOW
FUEL on MED
L4D2 on MED
Garry's Mod on MED
Leage Of Legends on HIGH
Most of these games can run on a higher setting but I prefer a bit more FPS since I play multiplayer a lot so I go with one setting below.
Minimum requirements for Battlefield 3
OS: Windows Vista or Windows 7
Processor: Core 2 Duo @ 2.0GHz
RAM: 2GB
Graphic card: DirectX 10 or 11 compatible Nvidia or AMD ATI card.
Graphics card memory: 512 MB
Hard drive: 15 GB for disc version or 10 GB for digital version
Recommended system requirements for Battlefield 3
OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Processor: Quad-core Intel or AMD CPU
RAM: 4GB
Graphics card: DirectX 11 Nvidia or AMD ATI card, GeForce GTX 460, Radeon Radeon HD 6850
Graphics card memory: 1 GB
Hard drive: 15 GB for disc version or 10 GB for digital version

MagusDraco Biiiiiiirrrrdmaaaaaaan
it should run.
it won't run anywhere near at max but it should run. -
GT540M Baka estimates to run BF3 on low-med settings with slight hiccups on the usual dust that Battlefield series loves to use ._.
-
Do you know if it will run fluently in multiplayer? That's my determining factor. If it'll run on low or medium without often or significant FPS dips, I'll buy it. If it won't, its not worth it for me.

hard to say before it's released, but i would expect occasional dips. "often" and "significant" are very fluid descriptors. It will be neigh impossible to get a straight answer using language like that.
-
Wait for the open beta and try it out.
-
once the beta comes out, can anyone try it?
-
Yes. Pre-orderers get the beta 2 days early though.
-
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
source?
also do you know when the beta is supposed to come out? -
the beta is supposed to be on semptember 11th, so i guess the pre-orderers like my self will get the beta on the 9th.
-
Pre-orders FROM ORIGIN get beta access. Us people that saved $15 buying elsewhere get nothin', well except $15!
-
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
I'll take my $15, thank you.
-
Any source for the beta release date of Sept. 11th. Thanks.
-
Lol before asking what my source is, howbout using Google.
And any other answers on my rig running BF3 before I try the beta out? I'm anxious about this game
-
Looking at what 540 can play at wat setting it would really surprise me if you couldn't play it at medium, it's pretty good card and I think it should run it no problem.
NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M - Notebookcheck.net Tech -
True! My 5730 is around 5-10% better ( done benchmarks vs a friend of mine who has a GT540M ).
Pretty easy to say : if you run Metro 2033, you'll run BF3. I run Metro 2033 at 1080p, DX11 w/ Tessellation and Normal settings ( 25-40 FPS ) or High ( 15-20 ).
It has already been proven false by DICE. -
ii would assume 540m and the likes will "enjoy" low settings seeing how i play on medium in bf2 with my 6750
-
I play BC2 at 1080p, DX10 with the following settings order : High, High, Low, Low, 1x, 1x, Off, Off. And I get 30-100 FPS.

Can You Run It?
This website scans your computer to see if your current configuration can play said game. Battlefield 3 isn't on the list yet, but once it's on the list, you can see whether or not you can run it. Hope this helps. :] -
That website is meh. It only checks your HW config and compares with the specified by devs.
-
It's 1033x768. 720p I think.
-
1366x768. Standard HD screen.

I wasn't questioning you, I just wanted the link to read.
Thanks for the heads up about Google. Learn something new every day. -
Will my 6990m run this on low?
-
Trololo, it'll run on EASILY on Medium, and High. Not maxed though.
-
how would you know that card could probably run all the settings on high with at least 16x AA and 16x AF at about 50-60 fps. with overclocking even higher.
-
Because DICE said that there is no hardware available to run BF3 COMPLETELY maxed.
-
Lies. Just more marketing bs.
-
They said that on an E3 interview, but now I can't find it.
-
I say you have to run BF3 on a rocket ship with satellite super technology with a 76000 ati radeon to run bf3 on max. Just sayin. Don't hate on the specs of awesomeness.
-
lol, you caught yourself in that one
An ATi Radeon 7600 is OOOOOOOLD!
-
Re-read it
-
Dude, u crazy?
That's not enough!
-
Shall I edit in another zero? Cause I can. And I will
-
This game is not going to be a game like Crysis which is wowzers. My current work computer could run the game at max. And it only has dual 6870s.
I can't tell how to read the system requirements. Will my laptop run BF3?
