    Hey guys,
First post here, seems like a nice community.
I was actually interested in customizing the v2000Z notebook from HP/Compaq.

Now my question is, when you go to customize the v2000Z, you have two options in regards to the Xpress 200m.

The first option says the following:

ATI RADEON(R) XPRESS 200M - included in price

Description: ATI RADEON(R) XPRESS 200M with 32MB shared video memory is the ideal blend of performance that brings you a visual, cinematic experience.

    The second option says:

    ATI RADEON(R) XPRESS 200M w/productivity ports - +$25.00

Description: ATI RADEON(R) XPRESS 200M with 128MB shared video memory is designed to fully meet the increased system bandwidth requirements placed on today's notebooks.

I am going with the second choice but I'm a little confused as to the 128MB shared video memory because other notebooks with the card say something like "Radeon® XPRESS 200M with Hypermemory™ (up to 128MB of dedicated memory)."

So, I'm assuming that the v2000Z does not have an option for a dedicated 128MB Xpress 200m. Will this still be sufficient to run games (even at low setting and resoultion)?

Thanks and I hope that wasn't too confusing... :) :p

Oh yea, the system will look something like this:
    AMD Turion 64 ML-37 @ 2.0GHz
    Ati Xpress 200m 128mb shared
    1GB DDR RAM
    60GB 4200RPM HDD
    8X DVD
    Wifi, etc.

My tip to you, go with the 5400RPM drive! I was stupid not to. Also, save your money and buy aftermarket RAM, it will save you a bundle and runs at faster speeds.

Very funny, because I was actually looking this over.
It seems HP offers a student discount via my college so I decided to upgrade to the 5400 RPM HD.

So that whole setup with the 60GB 5400 RPM HD will run me only $807 after discounts.

Thanks for the suggestion, perhaps I should get my ram from newegg?

Yes, Newegg is a great place to get memory. I recommend Corsair ValueRAM, reliable and not expensive.

    Nice price :)

Definitely go for the 128MB shared X200M for $25 if you already haven't - it also includes the media card reader.
