Maybe because people like them?
And have you tried all of them? There have to be some that are good? Besides, by that reasoning, it suggests that you plain don't like FPS games. -
Ever see Night of the Living Dead? I have, that's why I love killing zombies. I was hooked when I played Resident Evil 2 on the PlayStation. -
I hope this will help

It's a good stress reliever for me.
What are you supposed to do when you're the only normal guy around a horde of zombies? Kill them of course. -
I dont really mind seeing all these different zombie themed games, its just that some of them really lack decent gameplay and quality.
Only thing thats cool with L4D 1 / 2 is the coop and versus. xD -
people like fantasy. shooting regular people is much more common than zombies.
besides, would you feel bad killing a young innocent child?
now how about a child who just ate your partner and is chasing you with his intestines hanging from her chin? -

I play single player in L4D2.. don't really see how it's less fun, you still see the gore, the comical "blowing up of zombies heads into little fragments" part of things.
-
I play single player L4D, too, and its still fun.
Haven't tried L4D2 yet, though. -
IMO the main reason zombie games work is because it's the only imaginable scenario where you can pit you against hundreds of enemies. I mean, it'd make no sense in any other kind of context except one where the enemy isn't human.
I guess people like the whole "impossible odds" thing; just look at games like Dynasty Warriors or whatnot. -

Also, there are almost no moral qualms about killing zombies. You might feel bad about the pirates, ninjas, and Chinese men you slaughter right and left--I'm a reasonably sane Warriors fan, unfortunately--but not former people who are coming to eat your face.
Unless you're an odd/skilled fanfiction writer.
Try playing on a given difficulty setting with just bots. There's still the visceral appeal of popping infected maniacs, but it's just not the same as playing co-op with a full house of humans, especially if the humans are competent and have microphones. -
Plants Vs Zombies
You don't even need to move. Let the zombies come to you instead -
What people like is their business.

One of the best popcap games i played.
Peggle was a blast too. -

What can I say, my love of zombie movies (both good and bad) lead me straight into zombie FPS games. Left 4 Dead being my favorite series, though killing floor can be tons of fun too. Thinking of picking up the latest Resident Evil too because it looks good.
Personal taste man, obviously there is a market still as I have no problem finding games in Left 4 Dead 2 or Killing floor. -

What? Zombie games, boring? You've obviously not experienced the delight of completing the LFD2 campaign with 3 of ye buddies online. I mean, nothing beats getting overly psyched over chainsaw spamming zombies with buddies over the inter-webs.....sheesh, I even did it with the absolutely garbage censored Aussie version of the game before I discovered the sublime gore of the uncensored glory of the US version. Sheesh, dude, only Zombies don't like killing Zombie games.
-
I like that video lol.
-
Unnnnnnnnnnhhhhhh...
-
That video was priceless!
Zombie-killing games often aren't developed well with a lot of innovation and good gameplay mechanics and such. The exception being RE and L4D series imo. RE4 was one of the most engaging experiences on a console. L4D is just plain old massacre-ing fun, with the polish of the source engine over it.
I was cutting weight for wrestling earlier this year and just over all having a bad day. I was pretty stressed and frustrated, so what did I do? Popped in L4D and took a shotgun to the head of everything I saw, man that felt good. -
IMO Resident Evil 4 is one of the best games of the decade.
-
Speaking of RE4, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles (on-rails shooter) is great on the Wii. Me and my girlfriend are having a blast with it.
-
I'm in the same league... i am completely sick of these zombie games and gore... i want more shooter like MW2!
-
Don't get me wrong, everyones into there own thing and Valve's Zombie games are pretty, just looking for a little more from them !
Episode 3 anybody ? -
I like Zombie and vampire movies/games (minus twilight)
RE and L4D2 is awesome. -

We all know you're a closet Team Jacob supporter. I kid, I kid.
-
Either HL2 Episode 3 or HL3. xD
Maybe we get lucky and they upgrade CSS to the new engine free of charge too? -
-
The nade zombies from HL2 EP2 was kinda cool.
Much better than the big zombie that throws poison headcrabs. -
