Whenever I open the game Top Spin 2 which I installed on my laptop the game opens fine but when it gets to playing a match and I click on play the game goes out and I get a message along the lines of graphic has not responded and have recovered or something like that.

Could anyone please let me know why I have this problem.

I have Windows Vista on my Acer Aspire 3690 laptop.

I do not understand how I would be able to "Download the display driver from ATI" from the website. Could you please guide me through what I need to do for this.

Look up the name of your device. If you are unsure, then download this. Look under Name.

You will want to download the desktop equivalent on ATI/AMD's site. Ex: mobility x1300 → Radeon x1300

Then follow the guide on how to convert it to be compatible with your card.

    Thanks for the link.

From the website you gave me I clicked on download, but I am not sure which one I need to download there is the

ATI Catalyst 8.6 Software Suite WinXP 32-bit and
    NVIDIA ForceWare 175.16 XP 32-bit
    TechPowerUp GPU-Z v0.2.6
    ATITool 0.26

Which one would I have to download?

Sorry, Please ignore my previous two posts.

I have downloaded the software and the name is 'Mobile Intel(R) 945 Express Chipset Family'. Based on this could you please let me know which product I will need to download from the website: http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html

    Many Thanks

That site is for ATI/AMD video cards. You need to head over to Intel's site and download the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver.

Check out this link. Select what operating system you are using, then select the most current driver listed.

But be sure to uninstall your old one first. Go into Add/Remove Programs → Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver → Uninstall.

Thanks again for the link. I have downloaded the driver but every time I click on play either the screem goes totally blank and I will have to manually shut down the laptop or the game just minimises and does not come back up.
Do you have any suggestions of why this might be the case and what I should about it.

    Thanks

Did you uninstall your current one?

If you are unsure how, follow this guide. Under Programs and Features, there should be one that says Intel Graphics Accelerator. Select that and uninstall it.

Yes I did uninstall through control panel first. However after I installed the Intel Graphics accelerator from the website you provided, I still had the problem I mentioned in my previous post.

    Try running CCleaner.

Restart your computer and press F8 before the Windows Vista boot screen, then select Safe Mode. After it loads, run CCleaner (both the Cleaner and Registry cleaners).

Restart your computer and try running that driver installer again.

And make sure you downloaded the correct driver from that link I provided. If you selected the incorrect operating system, then you will have issues trying to get the driver installed.

Thanks for your suggestion. When I install the driver from the website you provided and turn off my laptop, it says that there is an update available and it basically reintalls the previous Graphic Accelerator, so the Graphic Accelerator installed seems to be the latest version. I am confused what causes the screen to suddenly go blank after flashing a few times when I click on Play in the game.

Wait, your GPU is an Intel GMA? Then it's possible that it's just not able to run the game. Intel GPUs are real bad when it comes to games.

I don't know why I didn't think of gaming earlier. I thought you were trying to install a newer driver.

Taken from the Top Spin 2 website:

Thanks very much for your help. So I think we conclude that I am unable to play the game with the existing graphic card. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh, really annoyed. Why can't they just make the game compatible with all graphic cards?!
