I have been looking for a good gaming system and I am finally happy with the system I bought.

I originally ordered an hp zd8000, it was okay but even with 2GB RAM the system was tortured trying to keep up with FS2004 on full graphics and Need for speed most wanted looked terrible and the performance was bad enough i felt this just wouldn't do.

So then I thought well guess ill get an alienware. Talked to friends about it and the second i mentioned Alienware they screamed for the love of god no!

1 friend had an aruora 7700 literally burn up on him. Alienware blamed him and did not replace it for free. after 6 months he threw it away 2500 poorer.

anothers A-51 5700 s GeForce 6800 burned up on him, one day he was playing WoW and the computer just quit. 4 months later he sent it back and was refunded.

so I though wow two people two systems 2 different problems and poor customer service, this dosent sound like the fabled alienware.

Then yet another friend when i was over at his house was like wanna see something. he pulled out his A51 7700? the fat one i think and he pushed the power button and nothing happened. It turned on for a couple hours then quit running.

And this is the friend that showed me his new laptop. A Wortmann Terra ANIMA M1750. A german computer that he got in his local village. And it was amazing so I ordered the same one.

For 1583 euro i got this bad boy. Sorry for the german.

    An X800XT?

A 24 month warranty and 6 months no questions asked return policy. Local Tech support covered under the 24 month warranty.

None of the american companies i looked at even offered the X800XT in less that a $2,500 system. Most systems I configured ended up at $3k just by having a GeForce Go 6800 Ultra. Some didnt even start at less than $2,000.

So how good is it? Good enough to run anygame I have thround at it perfectly or near perfect and thats no lie. Battlefield runs great no chop, no lag. FS2004 Full blast my FPS NEVER drop below 30.

It seems to me even tough these big companys offer deep discounts its some times better to look at a small computer store. Ill keep you updated on reliability.

Looks good, though one of the new Dell's may match up to it, but I'm not sure how well the 7800 fares...

Congrats on getting that good of a deal, much less than what is over here.

The X800XT is only in one or two notebooks that I know of, extremely rare. RockDirect offered a notebook with it, and the Clevo M570A can accomodate one.

That card compares with the GeForce Go6800 Ultra. A Go7800 should be about the same speed, maybe a little faster in some games [I'm referring to the Go7800, not Go7800GTX].

You won't have any problems playing the latest games with that card.

    Enjoy. :)

Yeah, it's a good thing that he didn't get one of those. Disaster waiting to happen. ;)
