Ive had the game a year now, and dusted it off a month ago, and just finished tonight. :D

I think Bioshock was a solid game, even though the ending was a bit weak. But I enjoyed the gameplay, I found it funny, freaky, and interesting at times. I really like the story, kinda hard to follow, but original none the less.

The soundtrack/fx are good too, really fit the mood of the game. The Big Daddy moan was awesome. Graphics were great, levels were set up pretty good. The story really pushed me to move on, to see what happens next. The gameplay seemed custom to a point (upgrading plasmids/weapons etc.) Really liked this one, after I gave it a chance. Also I used an Xbox 360 controller the whole game, which I enjoy more than mouse/keyboard these days.

Now.. my only problems with the game..

    1. I played the good guy, and saved all the girls. And saving them was really a pain at times. So i felt kinda stiffed at the 1min ending segment. Would have liked to known more about what happened to Rapture, and Tennanbaum, and the other citizens.

    2. When you equip the Big Daddy suit, where the hell is the Rivet Gun!!! I really thought that would complete the suit... But low and behold, no rivet gun, and felt like the splicers were kicking my ***, being a Big Daddy/Rosie and all.

    3. I think the Pistol was useless lol...

Other than those, I really enjoyed it. I know its old, and everyone and their brother has beat it, but I would like to know how others feel about the endings. I watched the bad ending on Youtube, glad I was a good guy lol.

While looking for the bad ending, I found this lol.
    Seriously, watch this...

glad that you enjoyed the game. Honestly, not many people appreciate it or even play it the way it's suppose to be played and complain a whole bunch about repetitive game play. But its like.. did you notice how good the story was?

My biggest problem with the game was that there were too few plasmids. I played the game the evil way, and so by the end, I basically purchased every single upgrade possible and still had adams left over. If the designers put in more plasmids and tonics, it would have added to re playability.

Overall great game though. The twist was genius. Would you kindly...

I felt exactly the same way about this.

I can't help but wonder if the ending was rushed somehow, like what happened with KOTOR 2: The Sith Lords.

That was really a crime against humanity, for the publisher to force an early release even when they know the game is not ready.

I did like Bioshock a lot though, even though I expected more. (Especially since it was from the same developer as System Shock 2).

Maybe they'll go into more detail about what happened at the end when Sea of Dreams comes out.

The ending was definitely like horrible ***. What difficulty did you play on? I played on the hardest and found a use for every weapon. Not so much for every plasmid though. Well placed trap bolts = Dead Big Daddies within seconds. I also didn't like how easy it was. Even on the hardest difficulty, I had no problem with almost every encounter in the game. Beat Fontaine on my first try with 5 med kits and 8 injections left to spare... It was still a great game though.

While I don't think the ending was premature. (leaves options for the sequel/prequel) I will agree that the hardest difficulty wasn't that hard and that the Fontaine boss battle was garbage.

yeah, some more plasmids would have been nice, instead of phase 1/2/3. I had over 500 adam left when I beat the game.

Never thought about trap bolts for the big daddies, I always used Telepathy Plasmid and Prox Mines/Grenades.

Bioshock was my game of the year, but Dead Space looks to be a serious contender.

I went through the game on Hard, no vita-chambers using just ice and wrench (overpowered combo ;))haha. We should have a telekinesis only challenge!

bioshock was amazing. im sorry to say, but for me, the ending wasn't that great. fontaine was also way too easy...something i dont really mind but i wish the ending had been a bit more. overall, i loved it. well worth the time and a really beautiful experience. games like these really spoil us...
