...seems like my new notebook has been delayed about two weeks. In the meantime, I'm bored...I wanna buy my darn games!
So, what are the chances of the GMA 900 being able to handle Oblivion & NFS:MW? All I'm asking for is 640x480 at the lowest settings...is it possible?

You've got no chance in hell of playing Oblivion and I doubt you'd be able to get NFS in a playable condition either as racing games are the most sensitive to a low framerate and the game is pretty demanding as it is.
Great choice in notebook by the way, I got mine a couple of days ago and really loving it. -
None whatsoever, as has been said. You can always fire up a Quake 3 powered game in the meantime, that plays well on a GMA900.

hmmm...i was told that Oldblivion might help, apparently someone tested it on a GMA900. i just found the website, but i didn't copy the url
probably not worth hacking the game though -

I wouldn't count on it working. The GMA 950 is a very weak IGP graphics card and doesn't even support T&L (required for most current games); the GMA 900 is even weaker and will definitely no play a demanding game like Oblivion. But feel free to try it out; you could always play it on your desktop in the worst scenerio.
By the way, which Dell notebook do u haev as your avatar? It doesn't look familiar to me. -
it's the M1210...i really need to update it with the nc8430 though
considering that my new notebook will get here EVENTUALLY, i might just buy the games and see what happens...if anything it will be funny -
I doubt oblivion will even start up at all....let alone actually run.

AHA! "Oldblivion" does work! I know you can download it from FileFront. It works on almost any system... just looks... um... nasty.

i might just give it a shot if my notebook doesn't ship on Monday...nothing to lose since i'll be playing the game eventually on my nc8430!
I know this is going to sound stupid, but...
