Funny thing about this game, I bought the dvd maybe in 2007 and thought it was an FPS, from seeing the screenshots. It wasn’t and I thought I got ripped off and I didn’t play the game the next 4 years. Then, probably winter 2011, I got tired of FPS games and tried Company of Heroes again, and I caught onto it. Was a great deal buying the complete anthology for about $12 on a Steam Sale. What’s interesting about this game is sometimes it’s based on real battles. I’m stuck on the first campaign in the Mortain Counterattack mission, my base got run over 3 times and maybe I was about to get near 500 Victory points when a barrage of German tanks hit my base and obliterate me. Guess I have to replay a different strategy. That’s why in over 1 year I haven’t completed much of this game, I’m only 30 hrs into it. When you get hit with a difficult mission you get frustrated and quit playing, - happens to me in many other games. Then after a time I get an itch to play the game and continue at the stuck point. Like it’s been years since I started and I have conquered Call of Duty 2 and World at War because I am stuck in them. But I should play other modules of COH 1 to continue gameplay.

It’s hard to believe THQ went out of business when they made this great game. But I’m not gonna buy COH 2 until it becomes 1 year old or goes on sale for $20 to $30. I still have lots of COH 1 campaigns left to play.

How about you – how do you like COH 1. Will you buy COH 2 and when?

Coh is one of the best, if not the best rts I've ever played.
I still play it when I do play games.

Well it can't be that great of a game you are "still playing" if you only touched it for 30 hours over the past 6 years. I got the game for free with a video card I bought. It was fun to play in the car since I could use the trackpad for it.

If you like CoH, do yourself a favor and go download Blitzkrieg mod.

I remember that counterattack mission. I got stuck on it for weeks. I always thought I had enough defenses by laying down barbed wire/building pillboxes/setting up MGs at strategic choke points but NOPE! Haha, it was crazy! I finally managed to beat it, but now I'm stuck on a mission which emphasizes vehicle combat (which I totally suck at) so I haven't touched it in over a year.

Can' wait for CoH 2 though!
