I need 5 Games - Help me choose.

Pick me 5 games (or packages) to keep me entertained for 3months.

- I have WoW (bored of it)
- I have CS:CZ (Orange box worth it?? or source?)

Oh... notebook specs are:
-Vista Premium 32bit.... Intel Core2Duo T7100 1.80Ghz 1014MB RAM
-Geforce 8600M GS

(Think thats all you need to know?!)

Oh and my internet is ropey but can handle WoW well so dont worry about that.

P.S. No more MMORPG's and unless the single player campaign of the game is fantastic, internet support is a must.

You should definitely get the orange box. It is well worth it and will run great on your 8600GS. There isn't a bad game in the pack, and probably has more value than any other game package in recent history.

Remove one game and get 2gb ram

 

I think the following should keep you entertained for a couple of months. They are extense, highly replayable and/or have multiplayer content.

1) Orange Box
2) CoD4

3) The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
4) The Witcher
5) Mass Effect (to be released)

6) Civilization IV
7) Sins of a Solar Empire
8) Heroes of Might and Magic V

If anything else that fits your requirements comes to my mind, I'll let you know. Hope it helps!. Have fun =).

 

Get Steam ( www.steampowered.com) and you should be able to get CoD4 that way, if your connection is crap it might take a couple of days to download, but you'd still get it. Otherwise, you'll be using Steam anyway once you get the Orange Box, which you MUST GET!!

3. Sins of a Solar Empire.
4. Dawn of War: Platinum (If you want to try a Warcraft III in space and better)
5. GTAIII: San Andreas (only if you don't already have GTA4)
Alternate 5. Titan Quest + Titan Quest: Immortal Throne expansion (available for like 20 bucks on Steam as a package deal).

 

Here's 5 I'd recommend:

1. Half-Life 2
2. Half-Life 2 Episode 1
3. Half-Life 2 Episode 2
4. Team Fortress 2
5. Portal


Since these 5 games are all developed by the same company, Valve, it would be cool and convenient if they packaged them all into one box. And additionally have the box as a really cool and eye-catching color like, oh I don't know, orange or something. Yeah, an orange box! That'd be sweet!

I'd skip CoD 4 if you only care about single player---it's great, but VERY short.....maybe when it hits the bargain bin ~$10-15

Call of Duty 4 is a great game, but it is a short single player experience, and I got bored of multiplayer very quickly.

agreed with all these, orange box lol, doesnt need amazing specs, although i would also advice oblivion (while its not online, and its an RPG), i easily played well into triple figures on it, my xfire has something like 430 hours on it.

I live in the middle east, UAE to be exact, not sure why it is banned to be honest sincei havent played it.

 

probably because it doesnt give the greatest impressions of countries and people within the middle east.....UAE being united arab emirates? which is very close to where this game is based, might even be where its based full stop, dont know.

 

Supreme Commander. Civ IV, Sins of a Solar Empire, Company of Heroes, Orange Box, and Supreme Commander. And for a bakers'....5, Oblivion.

And if you choose that game and go multiplayer I'd suggest the Russkies, support wise. Otherwise, have fun hiding your infantry in the treeline.
