I am bored to death with my current games, and want something new to play. It doesn't have to be bleeding edge, but something I haven't touched before. I typically drool over a good FPS or RTS game.

    The games I have are:
    WoW (despise)
Guild Wars (can't keep my attention)
Half-Life (Logged so many hours is ridiculous)
Counter-Strike 1.6 (Logged even more hours)
Counter-Strike: Source (Just bored with it)
F.E.A.R. (Good, but it loses its effect after a few times)
Battlefield 2 (too slow for me)
Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne (My favorite game of all time. I just have worn it thin)
Diablo 2: LoD (worn it out)

*Granted this isn't a complete list, but these are the more played ones.

Hopefully that can give you an idea of what type of games I'm into. I love all of them, but for the reasons above, don't want to play them anymore. Anybody have any suggestions for a good one that I should pick up?

For good RTS try Company of Heroes and the demo for C&C 3 Tiberium Wars
For good FPS, maybe Rainbow Six Vegas or Unreal Tournament 2004...

Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl comes out on Tuesday. It is like Oblivion, which is another game that is nice, but it is a first-person shooter. Looks good! :p

I just picked up Doom3 for $14. You could definitely do worse for a game (and it runs natively under Linux!)

http://www.fullyramblomatic.com/5days/ to kill a few hours

I've just finished this. I really like it. Ignore the graphics. It has great game play. An old-school adventure game, it captivated me with its storyline and atmosphere and there was some head scratching going on to figure out what to do! I now aim to play the other 3 games in the 'John DeFoe' series

Wannabeapilot selection is excellent, I would add:

    Prey (awesome and very original)
Chronicles of Riddick (Way better than the movie)
