I'm thinking about getting a Lenovo T60 with x1400. I only play Civilization IV and probably Age of Empires III. Is this GPU good enough to play those games? I use gaming consoles for my games...
Thanks

I don't think you should have a problem. But someone who knows more will tell you. Civilization shouldn't be a GPU intensive game it's kind of flat... lol. Civ 3 was great though
don't know about 4.

yes, you wont have any problems.

I definitely fit into this category! I am not a gamer, but I sure do like Age of Empires!! Question: I'm looking at getting a Compaq V3000Z. The only option for the V3000Z is nVidia GeForce Go 6150. Will this GPU be able to handle Age of Empires without being too frustrating?

You will not have a problem with Civ 4, but you might have a problem with AOE 3, u can play it probably at medium/med-low config, but i would doubt that it will play smoothly on high settings.

So I'm good to go with the x1400 or maybe I should up to a FireGL v5200 (yes I'm looking at the Lenovo) - but then I can only afford the to get the 14" screen -
The ATi X1400 or FireGL v5200 will not have a problem with Civilization IV on medium-high settings. Age of Empires III, as said, may be a little less forgiving on the hardware, though.
As for the Go6150 in the Compaq v3000z, that is not really a graphics card; despite the name, it is an integrated graphics chip. It should still be able to run Civilization IV, but probably on very low settings.

I ran Civ 4 at 1600x1200 on my Dell 5150 with a 64MB GeForce5200, which, was a terrible video card.
Later on in the game, there was _slight_ lag when you have a TON of animations going on, but it was never even close to not being playable.
You'll have no problems with the X1400. -
I only play 1 game
