The problem with that tool is that uses a simple database which compares your system specs with the "boxed" system requiremets. Due to the wide variety of hardware configurations, specially laptop hardware, you will get false results.

For example, a wide variety of games are, according to that site, completely unplayable with my laptop because I have a 1.6Ghz CPU.

The site is OK for determining whether a game will run at all (e.g. for instances where somebody is trying to run a modern game with an Intel GPU or a SM 3.0 only game with an older video card), but it's not very helpful in deciding how well the game will run. Probably not worth a sticky.

Althernai basically has it. The site [at best] compares your system specs with those on the box with only few extra specifications like SM and stuff. Basically, it doesn't really do anything for anyone who's half motivated couldn't do i.e. check out the specs online or on the box and compare them with the specs of your machine.

The support for mobile GPUs is also so-so last I checked(they only verify VRAM, SM and those).

SRlab is not something you want to go by when real human opinions and experiences are just a click away.

I think we should have a sticky pointing out that that place is a worthless link.

It has repeatedly come back with "you can't run it at all" when it runs extremely well.

Asking here and getting 6-7 responses and taking the consensus is MUCH more accurate and useful than that "almost always wrong" site.

    Online specs check ?
    Lol ...
I'm sorry, but I personally find those utterly useless because as it turns out, Dragon Age is a very demanding game and was worried that I won't be able to run it decently, yet I just found out that people who have comparable specs are running the game in my native res (1280x800) maxed out without too much trouble.
I still haven't got the game myself and have yet to see on how it will actually behave on my system once I do though.
    :)

My advice would be to simply compare your own computer specs to the recommended ones that are advertised, and if your laptop falls in the mid-range, you will likely be able to max things out in a res like mine (unless the game is highly intensive like Crisis).

Agree with suggestion not to sticky the sysreqs website for the reasons already listed, I believe the moderators actually thought about making a permanent note not to recommend new users to look at the site.

For the OP: That big sticky at the top of the gaming forum exists for a reason.
