I think a while ago someone posted this here, it was basically a HUGE chart that included everything from the voodoo cards to the 8000 series. It was a giant picture file actually. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? can anyone provide a link?

That site is oddly inaccurate. It's 8400GPU scores are a little off. At default settings (1280x1024), I scored 1,000 points higher than the chart with no OC.

    How about this site: http://www.gpureview.com/videocards.php
There aren't 3dMark scores for all cards though, but there's specs for every card (mobile and desktop). You can compare two cards, side by side. Also you can OC the card to see how it affects it's speed....there's lot's of information.

That is actually a really good site. Says my overclocking is too high. (550/650) Oh well... runs under 70 degrees almost always.

Your 17" WXGA can't run at 1280x1024 resolution for 3Dmark.

I know it's strange, but monitors that run at 1440x900 or lower will automatically change the 3Dmark settings. The "900" part stops you from being able to run at default resolution.

Blame the makers of 3Dmark for not understanding the nature of widescreen resolutions.

Hmm... stated on 3DMark that it was running at 1280x1024. Maybe it lied...? I should reinstall to check. Anyways, any other resolution still shouldn't be a 1,000 point gap. The second site listed is a lot more accurate.

BUT- benches are benches. Don't mean anything to me... all about game performance.

That site is not accurate period. If you look at their benches, even with the same card, there's 1000 point inaccuracies. Plus they have the 8400m GT rated lower than the 8400m GS
