id's entire back catalog has been released on Steam. Commander Keen, Wolfenstein 3D, the Quake and Doom series, it's all there.Special 10% discount on some of the games, and huge discounts for bundles: I'm extremely tempted by the prospect of owning the entire Quake series (including expansion packs, but alas, no Quake 4) for $26.
And if you don't feel like buying anything, there are downloadable demos for Quake II, Quake III Arena, Hexen II and Doom 3.
I hope Steam keeps this up with the old-school/classic games. This is great.![]()

steam is very laptop friendly for that reason. autopatching... preloading patches... im starting to... like steam *shudders*

I know. I used to hate STEAM. But now with being able to have access to all my old games that I registered with STEAM (even though I lost the CD's
) I'm starting to like it.
