Supposedly the 512mb 8600m GT in the Compal IFL-90 is underclocked in order to improve battery life, when compared to the Asus A1-s. Does anyone know what the clock difference is between the two, because I'm looking to improve performance, and i dont care about battery life. I just want it to be the normal clocked configuration..Any help?

Also I've heard so much that the card isnt DDR3, But others say it is. Anyone know the truth?

Sager NP2090/COMPAL IFL90 has a memory clock of only 400 compared to Asus' G1S which is at 700. RivaTuner reports it having GDDR3 but this has been disputed because of the lower clocks and the newness of the card among other things.

They way the driver report the memory clock speed can be varied.

    e.g. advertised memory frequency 1800MHz
The driver can report the ACTUAL frequency: 900MHz
The driver can also report the EFFECTIVE frequency: 1800MHz

Both ATI Tool and RivaTuner, the programs used to detect the clocks, use the actual ones though.

    I didn't tested on RivaTuner,
But I tested ATITool will report the same as the driver reports.

I don't know if it changed with recent versions or not.
