I know I could have posted in the " **The Official "Can My Notebook Run It?" Thread**" and I have in the past. But I REALLY wanted to expand the discussion, because trying out Crysis is one of my main concerns with my new machine.
It's a (still to be bought) Sager NP5793 with the following..
Now I would like to know what are the ideal graphics settings to have for running the game by my standard... I'm happy with >20 FPS, even if it's unstable and fluctuates.
I DO NOT want the littlest bit of AA of AF. So that's all zero.
In this case, can I play on very high settings as per my requirements ?
Else, what should be my config ?
EDIT: I don't mind playing on a really low resolution, maybe over 800*600 or so...

-
maybe yes(also i heared that no pc in the world can play crysis on highest settings)
-
Aww man even a geforce 6 series can play Crysis. I started this thread to know that if someone with a similar rig has ACTUALLY tried it on very high or not.. with AA/AF completely off.. and more importantly at what frame rate..
-
I think I have read somewhere in this forum that you can play it on high but with some not s high resolution (forget you native res. screen). Let me see if I can find a thread that was a couple of days ago on Crysis and some mods for improving it.

I use the DX9 veryhigh mod and game play is very good, even though FPS are 13 to 25 FPS I see no stalls or any adverse gameplay effects and the game looks incredible. Your GTX should be even better. DX10 veryhigh is unplayable. http://www.crymod.com/filebase.php?fileid=491 Here is my thread Crymod site is very cool! http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=224703

The thread of Snowsurfer (posted above), that's the one I was talking about.
-
Crymod has lots of new game maps to play also, and you can make your own Crysis map, very cool!
-
there is a thread like this where someone with sager 5793 with base config(but with 8800gtx)played crysis on high, but then he a custom mod and then he was able to play on very high with great fps.
-
1440x900 , all high should get you over 20 fps at all times.
-
more then 20 fps^
-
Exactly what I said
-
^sorry bro...i thought "up to 20fps"...

................................................................................................................DX9 Veryhigh Mod 1440x900 no GPU overclock 8800GTS

do you find that the other settings dont really matter as long as shaders are higher? -
Now why vould you use VSync?
Narsnail, is that (Y) what I think it is? -
a thumbskis up? yes...yes it is!
-
What exactly does V sync do? i dont remember
-
-
-
okay thanks, i remember i used V sync when i played WOW long time ago on my outdated Desktop
-
But I guess it`s fine also..
Stinkin crysis became the international benchmarking tool apparently. Man i so hate that game -
1.^LOL
2.so the bottom line is-you CAN play crysis on highist settings with good fps(or something like this...) -
Alright... I don't mind playing on a really low resolution, maybe over 800*600 or so... and that's without AA and AF... so in that case, could I play on everything very high and no shadows ?
-
You`ll have to set your own type of settings since the different configs and programs running in the background and etc may set a different field of results on the table, so I guess you`ll just have to mix up the settings yourself and see which one fits best.

okay....
