I'm very confused. I have a Evesham Quest A610plus Laptop with a AMD Turion MT34 and 1 gig of RAM. I know I have 200m graphics and I think it is all sharred and DXdiag shows the video memory as what I've set it to in the bios, however, 3dmark05 identifies it as 256mb of video ram, 128 dedicated and 128 shared. I only got a 501 in 3dmark05 but I didn't turn anything off I just ran it. My bios is set to 64mb shared and my system info identifies my laptop as MAM 2070. I have checked the medion website the chasis is exactly the same as mine. I think it's a rebrand which I belive medion do a lot but I can't find the full specs anywhere and Eveshams response to my questions where they are onboard graphics whatever that means.

I know there have been a lot of threads on these graphics but how do you identify exactly what you have when different programs are telling you different answers.

It seems to me some of the sellers of these systems are either being deliberately evasive or they don't understand what the consumer is asking. I know some sellers are very good about advertising exactly what the specs are but shouldn't there be some laws regarding trading standards about this.

Can anyone shed any light on this or tell me which is correct DX diag or 3dmark05. I'm not that bothered as I got my laptop for work, however as I do game occasionally I would like to know the limitations of my graphics.

    Thanks.

    Bernie

with a score like that it is the completw shared version. they only go up to 128mb. My ati 200m 3Dmarked at around 680 something with a 2.2 mt 40 turion. when you set it in bios and know what it is set to run everest or some other hardware monitor and see how much you have left ad that will tell you.

Dxdiag is probably correct in this case. 3dmark05 telling you 256 mb seems a little hard to believe. Look at how much system RAM dxdiag is reporting, add that to the video ram. If it's the same as the total ram in your system, then your 200m has no dedicated ram.
