Guys can someone please explain something to me straight up...

    I have a dell precision m4300 with:

    Quadro Fx360M
    Core duo 7200 2GHZ
    2GB RAM

I am tryin to run Gears of War and Unreal Tournament...

I see these GeForce 8800, 8600, 6600 specs and stuff as requirements for these games..

Gears for me in campaign is acceptable but multiplayer skips...

    I guess my questions are:

    1. Is my Quadro FX 360M good enough for these games?
    2. Is there anything I can do to tweak my system for acceptable performance?

I think that system is fine for running those games. I'm not that experienced in that sort of area but I can run that sort of game on my system which is not as good as yours. You shouldn't have any hardware related problems.

Other than that, I cannot suggest any other problems though - sorry.

    Thanks for the reply....

I am thinking there has to be a way to tweak my system to avoid the skips in gears..

I have it running at 800x600 and everything low..

still skips and lags in multiplayer

    Download rivatuner

Then open it, you will 2 customise key, choose the highest one then select "low level settings" then click "install". On the second option (Graphics adapter identification), change it for "Geforce".

The Quadros are cards with openGL based drivers so they run poorly in DX applications. It's the same card as a geforce, wich is meant for DX. You might have to install Geforce drivers aftwards

I'm purely speculating here...... not sure if this advice will be any use but might be.

Firstly, I was thinking it may be your internet connection. What's it like?

other than that try turning off intel speedstop? I doubt it will have much effect but give it a go.

EDIT: I suppose you could also try updating your drivers. Try out the Version Tracker (google it) - it will automatically update out-of-date drivers and stuff for you.

Thanks. I did the rivatuner thing. I set it to geforce.. but it still shows as quadro in my device manager and nvidia app.. is this normal???

Also I tried the laptopvideo2go.com modded .inf and installed the 169.04 (which is i guess the geforce equivalent) - but my lappy still sees it as a quadro..

is this correct? i guess i want to make sure my card is performing the way it should for games...

    any suggestions?

Actually though, the Quadro FX 360m is at least partly to blame. It is a 8400M GS based card and only 64-bit. You'll have to crank down graphics to play it smoothly.
