I just have a quick question. If I can play half-life 2... on medium settings i would say at an average of 33 to 35 fps and in intense fights it drops down to 25fps. Can I play Half-life episode 1? I have a pretty weak computer but it was cheap. But i am really getting into the first game and would like to know if i will be able to continue on in the series. Eventually I plan on buying another PC but right now I just can't afford to buy a new one. I have a sempron 3000 and an ati x200m and 1.5 gigs of ram. My PC only cost $550. It was a good deal from compusa. It was only $420 for the pc but it only had 256 ram I just had to upgrade it and I got a 512 mb of RAM for my b-day. But if anyone can answer that for me i would greatly appreciate it.

The requirements are the same so should be ok. Do you have an AGP or PCI-E slot?

If not, you could still get a regular PCI card for a few bucks that'd perform better then your X200, like a 6200 or an fx5500...

If you have AGP, this is a great deal, although a little behind, HL2EP1 has many settings on high and few on medium. No low and HDR is bloom. overclockable with Riva Tuner but you cannot unlock more pipelines. I have it on my desktop and it its great. I recommend it 100% for an aging system (Mine is six years old and still alive :) )

    They were talking about desktops.

You should probably be able to run it as the requirements look to be fairly low for that game. I'm not 100% sure though as I've only played the first Half-Life.

Minimum: 1.2 GHz Processor, 256MB RAM, DirectX 7 level graphics card, Windows 2000/XP/ME/98, Mouse, Keyboard, Internet Connection

Recommended: 2.4 GHz Processor, 512MB RAM, DirectX 9 level graphics card, Windows 2000/XP, Mouse, Keyboard, Internet Connection

Yeah, you should be able to play it. I have the X1100 (basically the same as the X200M) and i could play it medium settings just fine.

I have a friend that plays EP 1 on a $500 Toshiba with Intel graphics card and it runs it just fine. I can play it on my x200m without a problem, I can run it on med-high settings, but I need to say that I have the 128mb dedicated card, not the shared like you have, so I would say yes. I would recommend ending as many programs as you can that are running to get some more free RAM.
