Unbelievable. Lunatics raving about getting 10 fps in a game and comparing it to the geforce 7400 and 8400.
Of course the x3100 can play some new games. I was able to get a steady 20+ fps in Team Fortress at 1024x768 with most of the options turned down. But come on... Don't even compare this to a geforce 7400 or 8400.
Also, if you want to literally fall out of your chair laughing, check out the two huge threads on the x3100 (one about the drivers, the other about games).

The X3100 does suck, Intel had an opportunity to make a really good IGP but it's been a bit of a let down. Really it should of been better.
-
It's what you expect from an IGP, you're never going to reach the performance of a dedicated one. However I think it's pretty good for an integrated card, miles ahead of the GMA 950.

I have a Geforce 6200 agp card on my desktop and I can only get around 20-25 fps on TF2 with all settings on low @ 640x400 or whatever...the X3100 sounds pretty powerful! lol
-
Oh... I remember seeing those cards running crysis at 40+ fps with max setting... or did it mixed it up with a 9800GTX...
-
I dunno though...I had/have laptops with the 7400, 8400 and X3100, and though the 8400 is definitely superior to the X3100 I find the X3100 seems to be almost as good as the 7400 save for not having dedicated memory and image quality is not as good even on the same settings. If you're a light gamer I'd get the X3100.

Linky please!

I have owned both the 7400 go and x3100 and the 7400 go is AT LEAST twice was powerful. -
I wouldn't be falling off the chair laughing. I mean i had x200m and there was a huge thread about it. Integrated IGP is keep advancing enough to give some entertainment in games. Long as they enjoy it, then it is fine. Of course, it is not powerfuller than the dedicated but think about it. Integrated IGP playing those games? wow. I play games usually on all low settings if possible even though i have this new comp.
-
Yes noxxle99 you are entitled to your opinion and yes you owned both the 7400 and x3100. I am just stating that in MY opinion and I have owned both as well, the x3100 is almost nearly as good. Of course it really depends on what games and apps the user is going to be using or that you're referring to.
-
7400 is better becaise you can get better drivers for it

Guys,
I just wanted to tell you that a thread deticated to the X3100 was recently closed due to gross misinformation/abuse. If you want to make a claim/observation, please back it up or this thread might get closed as well.
And remember, the x3100 is not designed for playing games...
Thx

You guys make it sound like gaming is all about resource crazy FPS'. There are many other games out there that the X3100 can handle very well. Currently, I play Sword of the new World on full settings and it looks absolutely stunning. Seriously, I never would have expect an IGP to look and perform this well.
The X3100 is the most capable IGP I've ever used. -
The X3100 is solid for some games. I can run Guild Wars on mid-high settings, barring reflections and shadows, at native resolution, and it's more than playable. That being said, the biggest issue is the fact that the x3100 is still not a gaming card. A lot of misinformation was being spat out in the other thread about its performance. Simply said, if you want to play most/all today's games with playable settings, get yourself a dedicated card.
-
The X3100 can do some games. Just don't expect a miracle. If people are happy gaming on it, let them. I'm happy with my dedicated cards.

When I played it on the 7400 I had a much smoother experience and could turn the settings up to thigh.
Many users have posted screenshots of the x3100 running games with a decent framerate. Usually, it is at an extremely low resolution, and involves starring at a wall. Or in some situation not involving any action on screen that would push the x3100. The x3100 can run many games, but often it doesnt give stable frame rates.
If you are going to post that the x3100 plays a game, please provide a video with FRAPS running, and show us that the frame rate is stable playing the game 'as it should be played.' If its a FPS, including an action scene or something.
COD4 seems to work on the x3100 at low settings, however it grinds to a halt during action or when smoke is on the screen LOL. I can get 30+ fps in guild wars in areas out in the open with few players, however during dungeons with a full group, it is often 15 fps or lower. -
i played through Doom 3 with 7-15 FPS went very well.
If you want a good laugh, read the X3100 v. "anything" posts!
