Just thought I would add some comments on my experiences with the new AMD Fusion E-350/ Radeon 6310 platform... Mainly for anyone considering buying a netbook/cheap notebook with the these specs. I just bought a Sony Vaio Yb series with the above APU and i have so far, been very impressed. I installed a few relatively demanding games including the new Aliens vs Predator game which had pretty demanding requirements. I had initially installed this just for laughs, expecting to see really laggy game play. But i was very surprised to see that the game performed great. I left textures at medium with some effects on and kept it at 1024x600 & got average frame rates that were consistently between 25-33fps. It never dropped any lower than say 23-24fps even when out in the open during a big attack. Performance of the little CPU/APU are impressive and Win 7 runs very snappy. I uninstalled the usual Sony bloatware and Norton to achieve this, but overall I am VERY pleased with this little 11.6 incher!

Anyone with this new AMD platform should leave any comments on their own experiences if they want.. I'm curious to hear what people think.

Mind testing it on some other game? Just curious how it compares to my netbook in performance but I don't own AVP. Have you tried Portal 2? I get about 50-90fps typically on that game with 1024x600, 16xAF 0xAA, mostly low settings with textures/models at highest and high paged pool memory. That's with an Atom N550 + 8 shader ION2, 2GB ram.

I only use my Atom 330 + Ion (Geforce 9400m) for XBMC and stuff like that.
Wish i could afford a small 10" to 12" AMD APU netbook, but sadly i blasted my wallet on my Clevo P170HM.

Also awesome that you can play AvP. :D

It also plays GRAW 2 at 1280x720 with all settings at medium and maintains 24-30fps. FEAR 2 at medium to high settings at same res.

I mentioned in my review of my X120e (in my signature) that the performance was quite impressive given the cost and battery life. Vindictus didn't run all that well on it, but it's handling Revenge of the Titans like a champ ;)

Yeah I just ran 3D Mark 05 and i got 3762 points which is roughly equivalent to the performance of my old Geforce 7600M. Thats pretty good. Nothing special but definitely decent.

I'm thinking of buying a small netbook (11.6" would be ideal) that's capable of some light gaming when I need it to. I've read that the Sandy Bridge integrated graphics are better than those of AMD's Fusion APUs. Does anyone know if this is the case, and if they're offered in a small form factor laptop?

I do not need, or even want, an overpriced monstrocity like the m11x.

Is this the HP dm1z netbook? Just asking since I have recently bought it too :) Very pleased with it. I kno I've said I will post gaming benchmarks but haven't had the time to test it for gaming.. If anyone wants, post here the game name and I may try if I have the game.

EDIT: nvm didn't read the sony part

I have seen opposite information saying the Sandy Bridge is actually slower for gaming but a lot faster for everything else. I think the Fusion E-350 APU's are great all rounders. I'm really enjoying my Sony YB 11.6.

AMD's offering is like a netbook +2 ... it can do daily work perfectly fine and a little gaming on the side... for what intel can offer in the same price range they can not compete.... for example the c-50 in $300 netbooks or 375-500 for E-350 notebooks compared to the $450+ ion+atom failcombo

If they'd just make one of these netbooks capable of playing BFBC2 (on all low is fine), I'd be all over it. No, the m11x is not a "netbook."

I believe this GPU can handle starcraft 2 at medium/low settings. It is a very nice budget card for notebooks.

Can anyone try out Battlefield Heroes on E-350 (highest possible resolution and details)? I'd really appreciate it. I'm currently looking for a CPU/MoBo for a small home server and I'm seriously considering E-350, but I have no idea, how BFH runs on it. Since it's the game I play the most, this info is crucial for me. Thanks in advance.

I could get BF: Heroes to play on my little brothers crap Compaq with Intel Celeron 575 and Intel GMA 4500m (GL40).
And since AMD E-350 offers superior gaming compared to that Compaq CQ60 my guess is that you should at least be able to do mediumish at 1366x786.
Also guess Battlefield Play4Free should work to as its using the same graphics engine as Heroes.

i also was very impressed with the platform. i bought a asus 1215b and upgraded to 4gb ram

    at 1368 x 768 or whatever
WoW all fair at 30 fps
MW2 at low at about 28
LoL at 32 fps all very low regular terrain
DA2 at 20 fps (smooth enough to play without headaches)
    Trine runs fine low
    Super meatboy runs great
    torchlight runs great

im randomly trying out new games when i have the time.

i was expecting more from LoL, but it runs fine, i was not expecting it to run MW2 or DA though, that was a huge suprise. overall its been fantastic.

Really nice results! AMD cant beat intels i3/5/7 mobile CPU´s but the inel Atom is really a lightweight compared to Fusion APU´s. But do not forget there are already many Versions of the HD6xxx APU GPUs:

    Radeon HD 6310 80@500MHz

    Radeon HD 6290 80@280 - 400MHz

    Radeon HD 6250 80@280MHz

My friend is able to play with the HD6310 BFBC2 in DX9 in LOW. Still impressive!
    ca. 25 FPS. OCd

while it cant beat the mobile i3/5/7s in power, it more than makes up for it in the price department. for the price there is NOTHING better. i got mine for $430, the cheapest mobile i3 was at 899 and it had a crappy intel gpu. more than a fair trade off. they are very impressive chips for what they do at the pricepoint :)

If you don't mind refurbished, there are Asus UL30VT 13" notebooks available for ~ $500 from meritline.com. It has the G 210M GPU switchable with Intel 4500MHD, and probably has double the performance of the E-350/6310.
