I need help from a Guru hehe. I know i made about 30 of these type of thread but i never get a good answer so ill try to make another. This will however be my last 1 about this issue!

I got the X3100 and my 3dmark06 is low compared to other guys with this card. I got a Celeron 1,8 and 512 DDR2 ram. Yes it low on ram i know!

Anyway is is true that i can enter the bios and change a memory thing from 64 to 128 and than get better performance? I use a Compaq V3000 by the way. Can i enter Bios from this machine? To enter Bios i have to press Del or f8 when i restart? i never remember.

Is it easy to find this stuff in Bios because i really dont wanna mess my laptop up. Last time i visited bios my computer never spoke to me again....

The last question is, can i flash my bios or update my motherboard for a better performance?

i know you don't want to hear it but seriously upgrade the ram. it's only $15 for a gig of ram now. the ram is the one bottlenecking your X3100 to its potential.

to be honest a celeron 1.8 and 512 ram, is a bit dinasour now days and not something you should be gaming on unless your playing very old games ! and you r better of using 3d mark 05 and not scoring it with 06 as your bound to get low scores !

check compaq site for downloads for your machine and bios updates and try n get the lastest drivers for everything

my advice is use that laptop just for basics and internet etc,not for gaming , and dont go messing with your bios if you dont know what your doing !

Most laptop BIOS's have very limited options. Most items are unchangeable.

And, as others have mentioned, do get an additional 1 GB of RAM. It's very cheap and will make a world of a difference.
