Well, unfortunately, with March came the (every 2 hour) death of my Win 7 RC, so I went back to Vista Business SP2 x64. However, for some reason, my gaming performance just doesn't work when running on battery anymore. I used to play MW2 on the trunk of my car just as well as I ran it at my desk. Now, I have to significantly lower the resolution and settings to get it to run at least semi smooth. Any ideas on what's going on here? I'm using the high performance profile. Maybe it's powermizer or SpeedStep? Any help (before my plane departs tomorrow) would be appreciated.

check powermiser, and run on balanced, or you're going to waste your battery.

Is there a place in the nVidia control panel where I can change it? I remember ATi Catalyst had a setting, but I can't find it for my nvidia. I don't care too much for my battery. Anything over an hour is more than sufficient.

Performance between High performance and Balanced is the same.
For powermiser, search for powermiser switch, though in the newer nVidia drivers, I have heard it is in the control panel somewhere.
