I will get a new notebook from work, money is not the issue.

I need a light power tool (I am supposed to work with it :D )

Actually I am looking for the fastest thing I can get around 2kg (a bit more than 4 pounds).

The 1420 and the 1330 max out at 2.2ghz and have an 8400GS graphics - but the Dell support told me I can replace the graphic module of the 1420 with and 8400M GT (after I got the model I suppose). Has anybody experience with this?

The 23OO goes up to 2.6 Ghz (great!) but has a funny Card: Quadro FX 360M - no clue how good that is.

What I don't like on neither the 1420 nor the 2300 is the weight. (2.5 kg or 5.3 pounds!).
That brings me to the XPS 1330 - much lighter. Does anybody know if one can replace the graphic of the 1330, too?

Or is there any other light 14" lappie with a nice graphic chip (8400M GT would be nice!), not too heavy?
    Cheers
    M.

The FX 360m is a better card than the 8400M GS.

You may want to take a look at the Asus V2S-B1. It has the 8600m GS GPU and a 2.4ghz CPU. The weight (at 2.3kg) might just be the limit given you want the most performance in your specified weight range.

Nice weight! The styling is a bit - well boring.
is the graphic M135 any good? Or maybe it is replacable as well...

    Asus V2-B1
Well this guy is defenitly pretty powerful and the weight - well better than the 142O or the M2300 at least.
The trouble with ASUS is you can only buy them from shops in Australia and the warranty is not so great - not accidental coverage possible. I have a little daughter and even before that my laptops never lasted longer than 2.5 years. They just break from excessive usage.

Anybody experience with changing the VGA modules?
