Hi everyone. I just recieved my 1520 and it is just amazing! Heres the specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 2.2Ghz
2GB DDR2 RAM
256MB 8600M GT
160GB 5600rpm SATA HDD
So far I've installed Battlefield 2(All High, smooth as butter), Doom 3 (Ultra High, slick as oil), and CS:S(Maxed Out, super performance). I've been looking at FSX and it seems like a great game, only problem is, will it look so great on my laptop. I'm just curious on what settings I can play it at, how it will look, and how it will perform on my lappy.
-Thanks-

you will be able to play on medium quite comfortably, with a few of the settings at high.
-
And do medium settings look good? Any better than FS9?
-
I had to uninstall it, looked like crap, everything was on "low" 1280x800. Have same lappy + 7200rpm HD.
-
it looks better than fs9.
@toalmander - was that because it wouldn't run at higher settings? -
yes, didn't try new drivers though, maybe they'll give better fps
-
i saw a vid a FS fan.. and he had similiar specs. and he was playing with everything high except the enviroments which he had it on medium...
not sure tho -
I had to install the new drivers in order to make all of my other games run at those settings I listed. So what I'm understanding is that I should be able to run this game at Medium settings quite comfortably and still have it look and perform better than FS9?
-
is it easy to download those drivers?
-
Very easy, and mine aren't even the newest ones. You just go to www.laptopvideo2go.com, choose your OS, and find which driver suits you best. Then just download and install. I'm not an expert so you might want to look somewhere else for advice on that. But back to FSX though, just so I can make a decision on whether to buy it tomorrow or not.
-
you could always download the demo and give it a try.
-
^^ yep.. good option
and im gonna buy it later on... i enjoy playing this kind of games. They make me feel "relaxed" haha -
Don't know if the demo is already updated with SP1 or not, if not, then the demo is Not a good way to measure your system's performance, the FSX demo is really buggy and runs really lousy...
But, if my laptop can run FSX at an enjoyable frame rate with comfortable graphics settings, then your laptop should have no problem running it on medium/high settings...
Plus, DX10 patch is coming really soon, since your card is already DX10 compatible, expect even more frame rate boost.
