Okay - ive got an Inspiron 1720, stinking on-board graphics. This thing has trouble running facebook apps smoothly, and forget about games.
    Running win7, 4 gigs.

Any ideas? It is a spare laptop - so I don't wanna hear "garbage" - just need a little guidance.

    Thanks,
    Wayne

Well, since Facebook apps are Flash based, that actually uses the CPU rather than the GPU.

One thing you could try is to update your flash player, but proper games are pretty much out of the question. Integrated graphics were never made for playing games of any sort. The main aim of an integrated chip is to save power and use less battery life.

Do they really? Had no idea. This is simply a livingroom internet machine - not going to use it for gaming whatsoever - and since i got it free - figured id give it a shot. Thought I updated flash - but i can try again. Thanks

Well, if you find out what the processor is, then we should be able to help you with upgrading your processor if you want.

Hell, my Q6600 runs facebook apps pretty slow sometimes, and that's a quad core. Flash likes higher clocked processors.

While you're playing facebook games, open the task manager and make sure it's the browser that's bogging things down.
