I was just wondering what I could upgrade to from my X1400 mobility Radeon X1400. I want to run Age of Conan, and can only run it at about 5-10 FPS (even less in the city.) If you guys have any suggestions to get my FPS up to at least 14-17, that would be greatly appriciated.

    Specs,
    Processor: Intel(R) Core 2 CPU T5600 @ 1.83GHz (2CPUs)
    Memory: 2046 RAM (2gigs)
    DirectX: DirectX 10
Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium
Graphics card: ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 256mb

I think what is mainly dragging down my CPU is my graphics card. I have updated all my drivers, and just finished defragging my HD just for the possibility of possible improved performance.

The X1400 is the fastest graphics card for the E1505.
If you wish to get more power out of your system, go into the start menu, type in run, to get the run command, and then type in MSCONFIG.
Go into the startup and services tabs, and shut off the service: "Microsoft Windows Vista Operating System". This is keepword for Aero. Once Aero is shut off, less of a load will be placed on the graphics card, and should help boost the framerates quite a bit.

Thanks for the advice. I went into MSConfig and found what you were talking about in the startup tab but not the services tab. Am I missing something?

Sorry, my mistake, its in the startup tab. Sometimes I cant remember everything.
Hopefully that speeds up gameplay, and if it does not, you can simply recheck the box to get Aero back.

Lol np, and thank you very much. I just want to get a low framerate that will be manageable. :)

    One more thing,
    Do you have i8kfangui installed?
It is a good idea to use this program to force the fans to high speed when playing this game. Age of Conan is a demanding game, and will put a lot of stress on the graphics card. The cooler the card, the longer it will last.

    I hope your framerates increase,

ahh ok, I will be sure to install it, especially since I'm going to slightly overclock. Also when I disable Aero, should I see a difference in the desktop and interface? What will happen when I disable it? I don't really care bout how the interface works, but I want to see if it's working.

The interface will look exactly the same. The only thing you will loose is the scrolling between programs. Its that button you hit, which brings all of the application windows open, and allows you to scroll through them.
Your system should run a bit faster after disabling aero.

For overclocking, use Power strip, I have been able to overclock my card quite well in my E1505.
