I bought myself this Inspiron a few weeks ago (1 of 2) and the first one played battlefield 2 flawless but having the 7900gs and 1 gig , I feel it should have better graphics..

My dell desktop has the nvidia 6800 and it has better graphics...im absolutely pissed..

now my second e1705 has the latest graphics like the first but with 2 gigs..and plays bf2 with even worse graphics with the latest graphics..

Im extremely confused and need some guidance and any battlefield 2 players out there dont hesitate to give me some hints!

even though I might have the latest, please post the up most latest just incase and places to download drivers and what not.

I have the same laptop with 2 gigs and BF2 runs great with every setting maxed (Full AA, 1920x1200, etc) so you should definately be able to.

Unlike other notebook gpu's, you can get drivers for the geforce go 7 series straight from nvidia's site. The latest official 84.63 runs great so I havn't even bothered trying any modifications.

Get the origonal drivers from the dell website. You should be getting very impressive graphics with your card and the right drivers.

For next time, please put the gaming/video driver questions in the appropriate forum. ;)

Remember that the latest and greatest drivers aren't always what you want. I tend to stick to two or three driver releases behind the latest. Go with what works.
