This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Installation problem (1628 failed to complete installation)

    I'm trying to install Call of Duty world at war but when I put the disc in or hit setup it shows the splash logo and then gives me the error "1628 failed to complete installation" and stops the installation. Any idea how to solve this?

    Edit: I switched out the disc with a new one and it worked. Guess it was the disc. Thanks anyway.
