    Hello!

I have lost my Wotlk disc (but I still have the key).
    I thought of doing this:
1, install my vanilla wow disc
    2, install my tbc disc,
3, patch tbc all the way up to 2.4.3
    4, install 2.4.3 to 3.0.1 patch
5, intall 3.0.1 to 3.x.x etc all the way up to 3.3.5a
    6, install catalysm cd

Will this work? I have 3 out of the 4 cds (I really cant find the missing disc)
Is it possible to bypass the wotlk disc by patching tbc all the way up to the last woltk patch, then installing cata with my original disc?

Note: this is to play on a retail server, and downloafing the trial is not an option because I have got really slow internet

You can grab the client from battle.net if you log on there.
It even stream downloads it so you can continue playing. :D

    Check the linky:
    https://eu.battle.net/account/download/
Or US if you got US account.

It is possible to install it this way, but the cataclysm expansion alone is a multi-gigabyte download from a wrath install. It really is not a lot more effort to just start downloading from scratch.

Truth be told, my favorite way of installing wow is to just keep a copy of the game on an external hard drive. Then if i need it, i just copy the files on to the appropriate computer.

Also, as a sidenote: I am reasonably sure that you can simply install the game from the cataclysm disc without any of the previous discs.

The new feature of the Cataclysm client is the ability to play while downloading the game.
This way you skip the patching as it will always try to grab the latest version possible.

But if you got less than average download speed then doing a install from the Cataclysm DVD is prefered.
If you do this be sure to archive the patches you download somewhere in case of reinstalls.

Thanks for the answers, + rep to both of you.
If I install from the cata disc it will start downloading files from the previous games, and my internet is not fast enough for the streaming client.
The lowest download size is if I upgrade from 2.4.3 (TBC) to 3.0.1, 3.1.2, 3.2.0, 3.2.0a, 3.3.5 then after that install cata. Will the wotlk files be compete?
    Thanks in advance

I would really recommend just downloading straight from Battle.net if you can, you're going to end up downloading almost just as much content either way when it starts patching Cataclysm. I've installed cata from scracth on two computers in the last few weeks and it wasn't much hassle.

The total download is 10gb but you only need to get about 3gb of it down and it'll let you start playing and then just run the downloader at night when you don't need the bandwidth.

Grab a big USB stick, find someone who plays WoW, copy+paste.
