I just bought some games for my laptop, but I also wanted to install a few on my older desktop. Do i need 2 seperate serial keys/numbers to do this? Or can I install the same game on different pcs with the same serial key?

Newer games these days usually let you install on up to 5 pcs. <- i think that number might be a little higher I cant remember actually.

Of course you have to have the cd in to play.

Also, you can uninstall from one pc and then have that extra 1 back.

    Hope this helps

It depends. What games did you buy, where did you buy them (i.e. a physical copy from a store, or digital via Steam/Direct2Drive)?

Oh well the games are in cd-form. I never heard of having the same game installed 5 times on 5 different pc's. Interesting...

Yeah, as long as it is for your use that is allowed. And even some people have screamed, believe it or not, when a company anounced that a few years ago as the 'maximum' allowed...

What if you reimage your PC? Of course people screamed. They bought the game, they didn't buy "5 installs", unless it was in huge font on the front.

As long as you aren't using the game on multiple PCs at the same time (multiple people), it should be completely legal and allowed, and if not, I would return the game as defective.

Well, I was obviously referring to Bioshock, and each time you uninstall once then you have free one of the "allowed" installs. My point was that is sounds too much for me people needing 5 or more installs simultaneously.
