Well ive had my laptop in for repairs now and it wont get fixed, so ive setteld to get a new one.

The problem lies where the integrated graphics cards come, since my old one was:

    Old: 8600M GS
    New: 9600M GT

First question is that an integrated graphics card is that faster than the original model since its already built in to the motherboard creating shorter circuit? and ive always thought that the integrated graphics cards were crap?.

The second is what the main difference is between them ive already looked at the specifications on:

    *HELPFUL SITE*

But that doesnt tell me anything before i run the computer in the benchmark test. So if someone could please share some light on this situation since i know that the 9600M GT has greater fill rate and all of that, but generally graphics wise, anybody whom could shine some light before i receive my computer?

Neither one of those are Integrated Graphic Cards... well, by reason.

Yes, technically they are soldered to the motherboard, but they are still a PCI-E format card, meaning they are dedicated.

The 9600m GT is much better than the 8600m GS, so you will see great improvement. I am guess the company that is repairing your notebook will be install a new motherboard for you, correct? Just keep in mind you cannot upgrade the GPU, so they are doing a hefty amount of work for you.

True, but not without reason, first the company is HP, the second ive sent it in for repairs 3 times because of graphics malfunction, due to heat issues, but ive been out of a computer for over two montths now but for example the 9600M GT say on call of duty i can run the 8600 lagg free but what extra kick does the 9600 add? if i may be so straight forward to ask?

I can't find the mobile version of 9600m GT but a couple rules of thumb going from 8XXX to 9XXX. The 8600m GT is equal to 9500m GS (9500 is a die shrink and has improvements and out performs) so the 9600m GT likely substantial performance over 8600m GT. How much? Sorry I don't know. Based on the desktop card could be 100%+

Edit: Oh 8600m GS? Yea more than 100%!

    Look here and here.

The 8600M GS is ranked around the middle of Class 2 - Midrange Graphic Cards, whereas the 9600M GT is at the front of Class 2.

Call of duty 4 should run like butta. My 9500m gs handles it nicely at 1280x800 maxed
