Let's say I can reach 770, 1600, and 939 on my 8700M-GT while using my factory installed 1440 X 900 LCD that came on my monitor..............now if I switch over to an external monitor............is it possible that I would be able to change my OC specs in Rivatuner without it producing artifacts?

Bottom line I guess is does the monitor used affect the performance of the video card or is it a non-issue with regards to how the card performs?

What monitor you use has no effect on the overclocking abilities of your video card.
