Hello i have a problem here. I have two cards running for my laptop, im thinking its normal now since i see it everywhere. With that said, i have an Intel HD Graphics card, and AMD R7 M265 2GB (not the greatest). It is an i5 with more than enough memory to play games like minecraft. But everytime i launch the game i get no more than about 20-30~ fps when playing on low.

I have checked the specs on my laptop and it is more than enough to play this game smoothly. I have read around, and I believe that the game is running off my Intel HD card and not my AMD. How do i get my laptop to run from my AMD card? I have read from multiple forums and couldnt find an answer. If someone would help it would be great.

Also is there a way for me to see what card is being used when gaming?

    hi
on my laptop this is called optimus. HD4000 and 680gtx
as soon as a demanding game starts it should auto switch to your dedicated amd card.

i know nothing about ati/amd but you need to go to your amd control panel and find the game .exe and make sure it is set to use the dedicated card. im guessing it will be similar to nvidia so there should be a drop down box with all your programs and then you can choose which graphics to use.

I am not sure how ati handles its application settings on per game biases, but look for it to make sure your laptop is switching to 2nd gpu when running those specific games.

That feature always confuses me as I never know if it's in integrated, discrete, or if battery mode reverts upon plug in. I always restart my laptop and right click to choose discrete graphics card , before gaming to ensure peak performance. I also set each game to use the discrete in the Nvidia control panel area.

forgot to mention that you need to be running on high performance as well and not on balanced mode.
ive only ever had to manually change 2 games in the control panel to run on dedicated card. the latest being titanfall. every other game ive owned has auto switched as soon as the game loads.
