Is there a noticeable performance increase when using an Intel 4500HD with DDR3 over DDR2? I'm curious if it falls within range of the Radeon 3200 or other somewhat decent integrated cards. I've checked notebookcheck.net but I find it hard to believe much on that site sometimes, though according to it they're hardly comparable. 3Dmark06 4500HD~850 vs. HD3200~1400

The HD 3200 destroys the X4500. The former is even competitive with some low end discrete GPUs such as the 8400M GS.
-
The 4500MHD, regardless of what type of RAM is attached to it, is not going to come close to any card.

DDR2 versus DDR3 will make very little difference, as previous posters have stated.

Use 3DMark2005 as a reference benchmark not 3DMark2006. 3DMark2006 relies way too much on CPU for the final score.
Average 3DMark05 score for GMA 4500MHD: 1400
Average 3DMark05 score for Radeon HD 3200: 3000
3DMark2005 represents a well-optimized modern game for the IGP with good developer support. So the 4500MHD when performing well, will perform 1/2 of HD 3200. Now remember that the scores at that site is using the fastest 4500MHD. If you are using underclocked versions like GS45 or GL40, it'll run much slower.
GPU-wise, the DDR3-1066 equipped GM45 will perform about 10-15% better than DDR2-667 equipped GM45. It'll probably score 1150-1200 in 3DMark05 with DDR2-667. -
Thank you. That's what I wanted to know. And in the future when DDR3 memory achieves shorter timings/faster speeds it could potentially be even faster, not that it makes much of a difference, but this is all out of curiosity sake.
