    Hi guys,

Don't know if anyone can help with this, but i was wondering what this chip would run like on games other than First Person shooter's. Cause i know it's seriously pants when it comes to them.

The kind of game i mean is like Age of empires III, Command & Conquer Generals & Zero Hour, Battle for middle earth? Strategy Games.

Ive seen that Ea offer support on the intel 950 and 900 when it comes to C & C And battle for middle earth.

does that mean the intel gma 950 can play them?

Any help here guys will do. thanks :)

You should be able to play them, but I don't know about what settings you will get. Most likely they will be at pretty low settings.

RTS's generally aren't graphics needy, but its always a plus. I'm pretty sure those games will all run on the 950, but how well is the question.

that doesn't apply. so please don't put that. they do play games. just not at a great level. -sigh-
and why would ea support the 950 chip if it doesn't even play? wake up.

I've seen Age of Empires run on systems older than the hills.

The GMA9x0 were never designed to do 3D in the first place. If the game supports the chip, you can play, otherwise, it's up to you if you want to risk seeing if it works. I would try to download a demo of the game if it is avaliable before you buy, just in case.

    Hmm been looking around,

Even the new Battle for middle earth will play on this chip?

Well i gather it does if it says this on the Ea Site:

"We will only officially support cards with ATI and Nvidia chipsets, and the Intel GMA 900 and GMA 950 products. We are not officially supporting the GeForce 4 MX series.

Please note, WE ARE supporting all other cards in the GeForce 4 series including GeForce 4 TI, GeForce 4 Go, and GeForce 4200."

    http://www.ea.com/official/lordoftherings/bfme2/us/features.jsp

semi good news for me if i get bored :)

Also as much as i wish this was true but how can intel say this about it...

Responsive Graphics Performance With a powerful 400MHz core and DirectX* 9 3D hardware acceleration, IntelĀ® GMA 950 graphics provides performance on par with mainstream graphics card solutions that would typically cost significantly more.

    HMMMMMMM!

Yeah, they also forgot to mention that the Celeron is the fastest PC Processor out there.

I wonder what they mean by 'mainstream,' because any modern or even not-so modern graphics card will beat it.
