IMO they should launch a new AW ultrabook product line with something like the 660m or 8870m and i7-3635QM. Samsung managed to do this with the upcoming Chronos and fit everything into a 0.82" chassis. There are a lot of gamers who want a sleek, portable laptop that can still run most games at 1080p. Currently only Razer and Samsung have offerings in this category, and I think Dell could clean house by trading on their brand equity among gamers.

Not true at all. Many CPUs are soldered especially on the smaller form factor ones.

Probably those ultrabooks, I have quite a few 11 inch/13.3 inch/14.1 inch notebooks, but they all aren't soldered, seems hard to find one that isn't ultrabook and soldered lol.

Um, about that.... there's something in my vein coming from Clevo this year. It probably won't be too crazy, though.

    Stay tuned.

Yeah, I saw that thread in the Clevo section. Someone described it as possibly being "Alienware-like" but I imagine it will be more like ultrabook styling.

I use hardwareinfo64 and my Metabox p170em, the 3630qm hits 3.3ghz, 3.4ghz without any throttlestop or nothing.

The motherboard pch temperature goes up to 82.2 degrees which is fairly hot in a non air-conditioned room but the fans and cooling are superior in metabox laptops.

I overclock the videocard with nvidia inspector to get the 680m to 854mhz and the memory another 400 mhz to 2200 mhz without overvolting or anything besides software overclock.

    I get 6900 on average 3dmark sometimes nearly 7000.

Cooling must be a major factor in the auto turbo boosting. You should monitor your temps and see where your bottleneck is temperature wise.

Oh, the new sli metabox system has even better cooling now, I'm sad panda.
