We're not sure if AMD's latest IGP was the influence but Intel is gearing up to release a new, higher-end chipset with integrated graphics for its upcoming Montevina aka Centrino 2 mobile platform.

Set to arrive this summer the GM47 will have almost the same specs as the GM45 but its graphics core will boast updated frequencies - 640 MHz compared to the 533 MHz of the GM45. As its little brother, the GM47 supports DirectX 10.

You're confusing the name of the chipset with the new IGP. The x4500 will replace the current x3100. The chipset, Cantiga, or GM45/47/PM45 will also include support for DDR3 memory plus a few more things.
