    The title explains it all...

    Hello all
Now, will Star Wars Battlefront II work on an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 (eek  !)? My notebook is a Compaq Presario V6412TU, going to be mainly used for schoolwork, I wouldn't mind the prospect of playing some of my favourite games on it. The SWB2 system requirements don't seem to mention GMA 950 in the graphics arena, so let me guess: it won't play on my notebook?

If that options gone, would it be worth it buying SW Battlefront 1 for it? I enjoy both games...SWB2 would be better though.

    Thank you!

It MIGHT run at the lowest possible settings and resolution. And even then, the fps will be crap. You should save your money or buy a console.

The first one might at lowest settings but I wouldn't hold your breath. I doubt the second one will run at all playably.

Intel GMA950 rocks!!!!! Saves battery power and is way lower in heat/fan. Of course I game on an Xbox 360 so my point is mute :)

If there's a demo for the game, you could always try the demo...

It should run FEAR at about 800x600 with low settings with a playable 15-25 FPS. Seeing as how FEAR is more demanding than Battlefront II, in theory, it should work fine, though coding varies from game to game. Worst case scenario, it will be playable at 640x480.

On the X3100, I can run Fear at High/Medium, but I should absolutely turn off Shadow in the Advanced Menu.

So maybe the GMA950 can play at Low/Medium with Shadurn Turned Off.

At 640x480? It'll run, I just can't attest to how smooth it will be.

It's not, I tried. That is, based on the average person wanting at least 25fps - which lets face it is the absolute minimum the vast majority of people would accept - it's not playable.

Playable for me is above 15 fps on average, so I guess we're on different levels here.

I have an acer notebook with core duo (2@ 2.0Ghz), 1 Gb of ram and intel 945gm chip with gma 950.
i can run battlefront ii at a playable level with the details on max and at 1440x900 res. unfortunately, during certain space battles the game crashes suddenly. also the textures on the ground in levels like hoth and geonosis are replaced by black ground.
the game runs fine otherwise, i'm trying to fix the other problems with 3d analyzer, but no luck yet...

Its clear many people commenting here dont own the GMA950 or Battlefield II.

Yes the GMA 950 DOES run Battlefierld II perfectly fine with low/med setting.

I also have played FEAR with the GMA950 on a core 2 Duo laptop ay 640x480 with some details enabled and it play very well.

Pwhdavey, Yes it will run it OK. My previous laptop had the GMA950 and yes I tried that game on it awhile ago

my x200m runs FEAR at 800*600 lowest but it is stuttery when there's a lot of action.
