Intel has made public a Game Compatibility List for their GMA 950 integrated graphics card.
    http://support.intel.com/support/graphics/intel945gm/sb/CS-021400.htm

I am curious to find out if anyone who has ANY of the games listed below have had success in playing these games on a GMA 950.

    Battlefield 2
    Call of Duty 2
    GTA: San Andreas
    Half-Life 2
    Quake 4

LOL! I would be surprised if you could even get the game into the start menu.

Those all have the red circle next to them, meaning "Game does not operate or issues make game play difficult."

I wouldn't gamble that the GMA950 can play any newer game comfortably . .

Yeah Chaz, I know they all have the red circle next to them but what I want is some feedback from the users who have actually played or try to play any of these games on the GMA 950 and have had success.

i have played call of duty 1 on my gma 900 with a 1.73 cpu and 1.2 gig ram. runs on 1280x1020 with settings on high. there is no frame chop at all im really happy with it.

the strange thing is that is says that it can not play the expansion pack for cod 1, cant figure that one out.

i have read that hl2 can be played but you have to run it in directx7 or 6.

Does anyone know if it works w/ Counter Strike 1.6?

CS or Half Life 1? via Steam?

if so, are there settings in the GMA 950 settings to turn off verticle sync or will it be stuck on 60fps?

    Thanks

    On my GMA 950:

    Civ 4 runs.
    Half life 2 runs.
    Quake 4 runs.
    GTA: SA runs.

All of them are playable but only at lowest settings and even then some lag.

Not a Sims 2 fan? That runs not bad on an Intel GMA 950. RAM will help considerably especially if you own a bunch of expansions and/or download custom items.

Well I've played GTA: SA on a GMA 900 before and CS:S on a GMA 950. They both run okay.

Intel's compatibility guide isn't really that useful since I don't think they ever update it. They just test games as they are released or perhaps in prerelease and list the results, but I don't think they retest when they release new patches or new drivers. The guide is also probably a bit conservative, which I suppose is a good thing since at least they aren't trying to over inflate things like the previous "Extreme Graphics" line.

Omg guys thank you for posting a tread about games. I thought I was the only one who could not play Call of Duty 2. So I guess it's the Intel chip's fault. Btw I too have a GMA 950 and I too cannot play CoD2.

Well.... I guess I have to buy the new nVidia Geforce 8800 GTX :p

Actually an ATI MB Radeon 9000 is one of the first cards to have Hardware T&L and as far as I know the intel GMA 950 does not have that. It's kind of sad because my friend's GMA 950 can run Battlefield 1942 high settings silky smooth while my old 9000 can barely run it medium settings without having it slow down.

    MARVEL: ULTIMATE ALLIANCE

the game itself sounds too powerful for a mobile 950gma but i really wanna play it.

I, Like most of the people here, am using an intel 950gm express media accelerator...Now I tried running my notebook on systemrequirementslab.com and FAILED...oh buggah!! But i dont trust that site too much coz some games worked well despite FAILING ahahha.

I plan on playing MARVEL UA on an intel core duo 1.73ghz 1.5GB 667mhz RAM w/ 950gma

Can anyone tell me, based on experience, what the outcome would be? Performance? Playable?

I usually play only EA Sports titles like FIFA and UEfA ..its just now that ive came across MARVEL UA. I plan on getting it if I hear some positive feedbacks. No comparisons with other GPUs , just wanna know if it will work and be playable. CIAO!

    Hi!
I have an Intel 945 GM Express Chipset Graphics Card w/128 MB Graphics Memory.

I can play Doom 3 at a somewhat low frame rate (15-30 FPS depending on the action around the character) at low settings.

I can play COD 1 at a very fast frame rate with no lag on medium settings.

I can play F.E.A.R on low settings too with a fast frame rate (F.E.A.R came out after Doom 3, so I don't know why it runs faster  ).

And last but not least, I can play Spore on low settings with an alternating frame rate (anywhere from about 15 to about 45-50 depending on what is going on in the game).

Check out my site: www.gameeer.com. It's for the Asus Eee mini notebook, but it has GMA 950 and can play lots of games on it. Just not many of recent, but earlier games no problem.

My biggest issue is with the 1024x600 screen. Many RTS and TBS games are minimum 1024x768. Plus a regular notebook with a more powerful CPU may fare better too.

Sins of a Solar Empire actually runs well with minmum settings at 1024x768. Falcon 4 Allied Force even runs well except terrain looks like giant green balls of cotton with the details set so low.

I think the biggest surprise I've seen is that my friend's GMA 950 can run Spore at lowest settings with a decent framerate.

Hmm, well I do play Trials 2 second edition, and Trackmania united forever while im gone on my Acer aspire one.

Trials 2 gets about 50fps avg in 1024x600 (my native res) in very low settings, and it looks pretty good.

TMU forever gets around 20fps in 1024x600 all lowest, high textures

    Dear all,
I just happened to try FAR CRY 1 on my small lappy,
    and it played nicely.

Water looks a bit unrealistic compared to 'TRUE' DX9 cards..but things were still enjoyable!

Here are the list of games that i played on my GMA 950 lappy without any mods:
    -CS 1.6 (including HL Steam)
    -FIFA 08
    -Ragnarok Online
    -Gunz Online
-Warcraft III (Reign of Chaos and Frozen Throne)
    -CS:S (low-med setting)
    -NFS :porsche Unleashed
    -NFS:Hot Pursuit 3
    -NFS:Underground 2 (Patch with ver 1.2)
    -Operation Blockade (Very High setting)
    -Carnivors 2 (Very High setting)
    -Battlezone 2 (Very High setting)

Some games can be fix by installing a Glide Wrapper, this will fixed some game compatibility, mostly on 3Dfx games.

On the resolution thingy, i manage to get 1280x800 on my GMA 950.
i use driver ver. 6.14.10.4543,latest ones just gimme crashes and less compatible. Driver results may vary from laptop models.

    hope this helps :)

i gota Intel Core Duo @ 1.73GHz and 1gb ram wit 100gb hdd sata and dvd-rw dual layer. it has windows 7 ultimate and gma 950(modded and overclocked)
i dont actually think cod4 would run on gma 950 i mean lolz
if u guys know a game called crossfire, that's the only game i play on my gma 950 and becuz of my gay wireless, my ping stays low but my fps goes from 10fps-60fps, which it always goes up and down. i dunt think cod4 would handle it, unless if u overclock and tweak your graphix card (gma950) u CAN be able to play cod4 on atleast 20fps even tho it is low
its better off if u buy more ram
gta san andreas, battlefield 2, i dont kno bout quake wars or half-life but gta and battlefield 2 should work fine when u overclock your graphix card and tweak it except overclocking or tweakin not necessary for gta san andreas
