Hey guys, I have an HP DM3 with the specs below, and I was just wondering how the new Intel HDs hold up, specifically towards an ATI Radeon 3200 HD.

The HD 3200 is around twice as powerful as the INTEL 4500 MHD , and the HD 4330 is around three times as powerful.

    In 3dmark06

    INTEL 4500 MHD = 800 points
INTEL 5700 MHD = 1900 points , according to one report.
    HD 3200 = 1800 points
    HD 4330 = 2600 points

Yeah, that is part of the reason why I went with the AMD side... but I am really curious about the new Intel GMA 5700MHDs, the ones packaged with the new Core i Processors.

The GMA 5700MHD is more powerful than the Radeon HD 3200, and is about equivalent to the HD 4200. For a rough idea, you can take a look at this benchmarks list. The 5700MHD is at #154 and the HD 3200 is at #165.

well , a NVDIA G310M is way more powerful than GMA HD and has a similar power consumption so why not look at that as a option? NVDIA might be producing crap dedicated cards but integrated ones blow away ATI and intel...

However the driver are still not as optimized.
I remember in a review, when Resol was dropped Radeon Performance went up but Intel HD Graphics performance didn't improve significantly.

G310m isn't an integrated card, it's dedicated, so is the G210m. But both of those are found in the cheaper end notebooks now anyway though. The GMA HD is pretty decent from what I've seen, and is much better than the 4500MHD.

well as far as i know , G210M and G310M were integrated... i didn't know that... since NVDIA always classified them as integrated cards..

Well, the new ION2 platform is integrated, but it's based on the GT218 core of the G310/210m. But the net book platform will have only 8 stream processors instead of the standard 16, and they'll share the DDR2 system memory, so they'll be ALOT slower than say my G210m with dedicated GDDR3 memory and 16 cores.
