I am ordering a dell laptop. Can the intel graphics accelerator 4500mhd support everything but video games? Would I have trouble watching videos? or Youtube?

I have the x3100 (pre 4500) and I can do basic pic editing fine (bit slow at times) and video processing gets done (but bring a snack).

But the x4500 is many times faster so I would expect it to be fine.

The X4500MHD is a vast improvement over the X3100. You should have no trouble with anything (other than games) you throw at it.

Keep in mind the 4500MHD is different than the X4500HD. GPU clock speed is 533MHz (similar to X3100) vs 800MHz.

They don't use desktop X4500HD in laptops. It just doesn't make sense. Laptop 4500 is always the mobile 4500.

Among integrated chipsets the X4500 series is really good from what I read, still weak compared to average dedicated card, but more powerful than standard integrated card, you can expect older games to run quite well on it and that means video processing won't be a problem

i dont mean to hijack the topic but i was looking into the new Dell Inspiron 15 that comes with a x4500HD integrated graphics chip. would this be decent if i were using autodesk maya to do some light 3d work?

I would recommend a dedicated GPU if you are doing 3D work.
