I am thinking about getting an Inspiron 6000 from dell with a Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900, 512mb ram, and 1.73 ghz pentium m processor. My only problem is that I don't know if that graphics card will be strong enough to run Command and Conquer Generals. Does anyone know if that would be good enough to run that game?

Here are the minumum system specifications for that game:

MINIMUM CONFIGURATION (SOLO & 2-PLAYER MULTIPLAYER)

    • Windows® 98, Windows 98SE, Windows Me, Windows 2000, or Windows XP (Windows NT and Windows 95 not supported)
    • 800 MHz Intel® Pentium® III or AMD® Athlon™ processor
    • 128 MB RAM
    • 8x CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive
    • 1.8 GB free hard disk space plus space for saved games (additional space required for Windows swap-file and DirectX™ 8.1 installation)
    • 32 MB video card using the Nvidia® GeForce2™, ATI® Radeon™ 7500 AGP video card, or more recent chipset with DirectX 8.1 compatible driver
    • DirectX 8.1 compatible 16-bit sound card
    • Keyboard
    • Mouse

Looks like an older game, but it won't run well on the GMA900 - it says it needs a 32MB 7500 mimimum. Your card is about that powerful. So expect to run it on a low resolution and settings. I suggest getting the dedicated ATI Mobility Radeon X300 card if you're getting the i6000 - that will be much better.
