    Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950

    looking to buy a laptop but it only comes with a Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950. will that be capable for 3d modeling and rendering?

    Oh no, that card is not for things like that at all. You need a more powerful card, and preferably a workstation graphics card.

    I got a GMA 950 in my NEC Versa p7200, i do quite a lot of 3d modeling, and the poly limit before it shows a sign is around 160,000 polygons. It does struggle abit if you have textures. But i find it quite slow, its still recommended for a dedicated, even if you want higher polylimit. Currently i havent even done 3d on a dedicated card, all my computers are all Integrated, so i dont find it too annoying.

    There also is a driver problem when running 3D sometimes, the driver shuts its self off if you do massive polylimit. Thats what happened when i got it to 350,000 polys.
