    Intel HD 4000 capable of what?

    I was wondering, if I'd be able to play Crysis 2 at all with the Intel HD 4000 graphics at min settings? Or - at all? Also I was wondering, if anyone could test the possibility to play Far Cry 3 on minimum settings with a Intel HD 4000?

    What? You can run Crysis 2 on low specs with integrated graphics?

    Mind=Blown.

    Edit: I just played it on HD4000 with absolute lowest settings at 800p resolution, and it runs like crap. It was ranging from 10-25 fps. There's no way it averages 40+.

    Looks awful too lol.

    Its performance is abot the same as stock 330M. I played Crysis 2 on MAX 900P with 20-30 fps. But I OCed a hell out of it.
    For IGPU you ned at least 1600 RAM in dual channel.For lowest I7 1866. For fastest I7 with bigger turboboost of GPU you may try 2133 RAM.
    My 330M had OCed memory 1000MHz. Which equals to 2000Mhz RAM.

    Jus played crysis 2 beginning of game, run at 800x600 gamer setting no vsinc from fraps below.

    Frames: 4559 - Time: 121883ms - Avg: 37.405 - Min: 26 - Max: 55

    Frames: 3783 - Time: 103039ms - Avg: 36.714 - Min: 26 - Max: 50

    At 1366x768 gamer setting, it is playable a bit like walking on the moon, if i could turn off AA and tweak the settings a bit, how do you do that?

    I am a console gamer, even the best spec notrebooks seem to run too hot for my liking, i prefer to leave the games to the dedicated consoles, if you prefer a mouse/keyboard than i joypad you are stuck with a pc or is this no longer true?

    Lowering the resolution makes the graphics fuzzy and unclear. To me, if you have to lower the resolution just to get decent frames per sec isn't playable.

    I'd rather lower the graphical setting and stay native res than lower resolution and have high graphical setting.

    Basically intel hd 4000 is hopeless for playing fc3 or crysis for the above conditions unless you lower resolution to 640x480 or 800x600 with reduced graphical settings.

    I would avoid it. the intel graphics cards can be trusted on low end games and most indie games. however, crysis 2 is one of the highest spec'd games out right now.

    I have been playing crysis 2 at 1280x768 so only small side bars, change shortcut target to this "C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis 2\bin32\Crysis2.exe" +r_glow 0 +r_motionblur 0" , also turn v-sync off.

    And it runs great on my HD4000

    Not everybody can afford a top notch dedicated graphics, sometimes you have to make do with what you have got.
